At the end if I wanted to use the method where you do the edge from both sides and taper in the middle (like the cherry). You didn't show how to add the extra pair on the side that only has one. How would I go about doing that? I am guessing it is a sew in through the cherry edge (I lack correct terms sorry)?

Yes. Just sew and extra pair into the side bar of a pinhole where needed.

I have a question! My bobbins keep coming unraveled while I work. I put the half hitch on like I've been taught, but they keep unwinding.....How can I fix that problem? Also, love the work you're showing! Lace making is fascinating!

Have a look at my video on half hitches here. It might help. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3STgn56nb6IrKs I rarely do a single half hitch. I always take the thread around the neck of the bobbin at least twice as the extra thread on the bobbin neck gives a little more purchase and makes the bobbins much less likely to run away.
