Strong Agree: 1) TJ's is slaying it with the vegan options 2) Too much ginger 3) The frozen items ALWAYS take at least double the time 4) Those Korean rice triangles are amazing! Good stuff. Hope Mochi is well!

As a person living alone I find several of TJ frozen entrees very tasty and don’t take much time to prepare. By trial and error I have found some I like. I also am on a sodium restricted diet so that eliminates some choices

I let the kimpab thaw out and pan fry it in avocado oil for a few minutes. It tastes really good! I don’t recommend microwaving it. Dip it in sauce too! Makes a huge difference 😊

I like part of the Trader Joe’s kimbap, like I think the rice and seaweed turns out surprisingly well for a little frozen thing, but it’s so heavy on the sweet burdock root. If they had a different filling, I’d really like them, something more savory

I haven’t tried a few of these but the ones that I did try we had the same reaction (kimbap, beefless bulgogi, spicy squiggly noodles) so I’ll trust your judgement and go pick up the rice balls and maybe the mango sticky rice the next time I’m at TJ’s.

My wife and I always grab the max amount of those gimbaps whenever they restock. Combine it with kimchi or chili oil and it meets the hype. TJ's is more accessible (10 min walk) to us than H-mart (35 min drive) too so.. that is taken into consideration

the kimbap actually taste better when it's not hot. Try eatting it again after it's cooled to room temperature.

Great Vid!!! The Jumeokbap are SUPER good - we were very, very pleasantly surprised just HOW good. Great... it's 3am and now I'm craving some lol The Gimbap are... okay for... well, times like now (3am) when you just want a NOSH and don't have the rice cooker going or the Sushi Bazooka handy. Decent. CAM Asian Markets carry a lot of Korean ones that are tastier - they just started carrying the Tuna Mayo Gimbap and the *swoon* Japchae ones, which are pretty darn good. We tell people who don't go to Asian markets to get the "Squiggly noodles" just for the noodles. The sauces are bland - but those noodles are ADDICTIVE. I make Taiwanese Soy/Vinegar noodles with them - but they're awesome in Dashida beef stock, or for Jjajangmyeon (My bae loves the Orange Chicken over them lol). Great vid, now I can't wait to go shopping!

I think the tropical boba kit would go perfect if you used a 7-up or Sprite mixed with an Arizona ice tea or something. As for the instant noodles, you can add a drizzle of sesame oil and a spoon of almond butter or peanut butter and finish with some green onion.

The kimbap was bad for a minute, but I like it again. I mix the chili crunch, coconut aminos, and a little sweet vinegar for a sauec and I think it's really good. I have tried the equivalent at HMart and I thought it was terrible.

I just went yesterday, they did not have the gimbap, but I got the shrimp bao, they had plenty of those near me. Also vegetable bird nest was good. almost got the beefless bulgogi and the rice balls but was not sure about it

I’d love to try the mango sticky rice! I agree about the ramen, I’ve had it and it was just fine after adding more sauce. I added peanut butter, chili oil, a little oyster sauce and mayo along with veggies and a fried egg 😊

Agree, kim bop is a hype as it should be eaten at room temp, not from microwave… HOWVER, it does introduce Korean food to others where Korean markets, restaurants aren’t available

I ALWAYS let the beef less bulgogi thaw in the refrig for at least a day before pan frying. I mix it with the garlicky cabbage and serve over rice. One of my favorite meatless meals.

I like to use the tap water defrost technique if I don't plan ahead for a fridge defrost. Those vacuum sealed products are prefect for it.

At 13:30 - With frozen meat dishes, I usually thaw overnight or microwave thaw before cooking on the stove, even if the package says, "DO NOT THAW!" Decreases cook time and I've never had a bad experience by not following directions.

I’m someone that prefers drinks that aren’t super sweet and it’s the right amount of sweetness for me. I just bought my 3rd box of it. Last year I did get 1 box of the other boba but it wasn’t memorable for me and I didn’t think to get another box.
