I ordered the 2.0 TSI 265 PS, I will probably get it around mid april to beginning of may. I also tested the 272 PS Hybrid version. As I am not looking for the most economic car, I chose the pure combustion version because it also has 4 wheel drive which to me makes sense if you have 400 Nm of Torque. The Plug-in Hybrid with 272 PS is heavier and only has front wheel drive which you noticed well when flooring it. It had a lot of torque steering. I also don't like the engine hauling up in the Hybrid. I know the 1.5 engine very well, as I have it in my Karoq and it has not the most beautiful sound, it's quite rough. My configuration I chose is: TSI 2.0 265 PS, car colour: Dark Void, rims: HADRON COPPER 20 inch, Matrix LED Ultra lights, inside: Leather seats High CANYON (which matches brilliantly with the colour of the car), panoramic opening roof, electrically deployable trailer hitch with trailer assist, winter pack (which only includes heated front seats), stationary heating, Easy plug-in pack (which is a 240 V plug and a 12 V plug in the boot), the DIGITAL DRIVE pack which includes the head-up display, navigation and virtual cockpuit (digital tacho), the INTELLIGENT DRIVE pack which includes lane assit and traffic jam assist, also intelligent park assist (car parks itself), 360° camera, blind spot and exit assist (while parking), Options I didn't choose: Sennheiser Audio (the stand 9 speaker system is quite good and it safes boot space) and the AKEBONO braking (quite expensive and due to the big diameter you will maybe have problems choosing smaller rims for the winter tyres.

Being little bit late to the video. Ordered the VZ 265 PS. Had a long test drive and the car is absolutely amazing! Thanks for the review.

Like what I am seeing - currently driving an Audi Q3 Sportback but am considering this one as my next choice (waiting for the 204 PS 2.0l 4x4 to become available as it should be a bit more fuel-efficient than the VZ version at a still sufficient power level for everyday and long distance driving)…
@houseofcars19733 ай бұрын
This would be a really good replacement for your Q3. Just a bit bigger, not too large, but with similar quality to Audi (it’s not far off) and many things you’d recognise. I’d love to have tried the 2.0 204PS variant, but it was just 265PS and PHEVs that were in the launch, but I suspect you’d be right about it being decent enough to hustle it along. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

Thanks for that review, it answered many of my questions, I am moving from XC60 mentioned by you, I was broken on engine version, and your comment at the end was priceless for me . I've ordered the VZ with 265 PS version ( we don't have VZ1 or VZ2 here in Poland - we also unfortunatelly don't have the America's Cup version ) . I got one question for you - i've watched few videos about this car - did you drive in Cupra mode or Comfort mode, in the part where you are talking about this car softiness - i got an impression I can't heart the artificial endine sound - which sugguest me it's a comfort mode. If it's excatly the driving mode you drove - did you have a chance to test the Cupra mode? Does it make a difference in softeness ?

Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I drove the car on film in Comfort mode mostly, but did also drive another model in Cupra mode, where the artificial engine noise was much more vocal. The suspension was a little firmer, but I wouldn't suggest that it was night & day of a difference, and the car seems to be set for a more comfort bias setup, which is no bad thing in my book. It treads a good path between feeling sporting and yet still having a good enough ride quality for this style of car. I hope that helps.

Exactly the color combo I would go for, thank you! It's just a shame, now I will have to wait for some time until reference cars hit the market with 10k km on the odo. A great review, thanks for that. If you say it could compete with both Q3 and Q5, why only X1 and not the X3 too? As we know the X3 now does not have too much legroom and the boot ain't big either.

You can see the shifters are too small and too far in - such an easy thing to get right. I do wonder why manufacturers do this. Great review - would look good in a decent green colour
@houseofcars19733 ай бұрын
They have some quite cool colours at the moment. There is a new one called Dark Void which looked really cool, and there was Formentor parked nearby in a really cool bronze/olive colour. Looked mega.

Reviewing the facelifted Formentor (and Leon) very soon. Also just reviewed the new Born VZ for AutoEV which will be live soon. Really like what Cupra are doing as a brand.

I am just looking at leasing offers in Czechia and this car with hybrid is pretty cheap. Pretty good value for money. I just dont get the VAG strategy - they complain about people not buying their EVs, but ID.3 base model lease is more expensive than Terramar VZ ehybrid. I would like to get Enyaq/ID.4, but even thow they cost around 60k eur, so same as Terramar ehybrid the leasing is 50% more expensive.

Stelvio or Terramar?

Honestly? I haven’t driven the Stelio so can’t really say. But it would have to be good to choose it over this. I really did like this car.

Dare I say it 'Another SUV'

You can just say: "Hey Cupra! My balls are cold" and it will turn on the seat heating. You dont need any of the buttons although they all work very well.
@houseofcars19733 ай бұрын
I know, but I’ve never had a great experience with voice control on any car. I tend to find by the time it’s done it, I’d have been quicker looking for the button in the screen anyway! Thanks for watching though, very much appreciate it.

Seeing that Cupra was the sporty versions of Seat a Cupra with a 1500 cc engine doesn't seem worthy of the badge, I prefer the Formentor that I own with a 2 litre 310 bhp engine, I wouldn't really call the Formentor an SUV either as I can easily reach over the roof when washing it, it sits somewhere in between.

It's too low it's the same high as the formentor I have a formentor and love it but with back issues it's too low for me I was hoping this one would have been higher unfortunately not
