The X-Ray mode of Preview is there for error checking. Somtimes there are gaps or flipped normals prior to exporting to STL, so in theory X-Ray is supposed to help see the errors Cura automatically warns you about.

I loved it. Expand upon the infill subject next! I want to know more about lightning vs gradual infill. I think Gyroid wears my printer out for no reason. What's the least we can infill???
@ItsMeaDMaDe2 жыл бұрын
That is a great topic! I can defiantly expand upon infill. I can do a few more experiments with lightning infill see where it works good and not so good. Gradual Infill is also a great thing to talk about. I'll add these to the list. Thanks!

I believe I understand the dark blue line on the travel line type is travel without retraction...
@ItsMeaDMaDe2 жыл бұрын
Dark blue is when the extruder is pushing filament. Light blue is traveling and not extruding.

I’m a newb to 3 D Printing and trying to learn - bought a Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro and would like the link to that model for my Grandson- just printed one off of thingtverse for him an turned into a 20 hr print it was covered in supports that I’m having a hard time removing- downloaded Cura and will give it a try

Hey there! I was originally trying to figure out how to tell the printer to print different colors since I have an Ankermake M5 coming in about a month and they have a thing to print with 6 colors at once.... But I have absolutely no idea how to tell the printer which colors to use on different areas. Do you have any experience with this sort of thing?
@ItsMeaDMaDe Жыл бұрын
I’m sorry I don’t. I do believe there are separate slicer programs that do it for you. I don’t believe Cura allows you to do that.
@antoniomartos66382 жыл бұрын
Hi my name is Tony, I find your video's most helpful0, thank you for your Video's. I am new to 3D Printing. I just got my Viper printer, and i installed Cura on my Laptop. when it comes to scaling everything in Cura is in mm or %. iIprefer to print my files at a 1/6 scale. i have one that is 1/8th scale and an other one that is at a 1/4 scale. Cura will let you scale by a % or by mm.and i can't get it to print at the right 1/6 scale. what am i incorrectly doing? can you help?
@ItsMeaDMaDe2 жыл бұрын
You can always make something at the correct scale and scale the model to match the right scale. Or if you know what size it actually is you could do the math to see how tall it would be in the scale you want.

Im going to try cura on my prusa printer it seems much easier to understand
@ItsMeaDMaDe2 жыл бұрын
The prusa slicer is great for prusa. Cura is great for everything. I feel like you have more control in cura vs. prusa slicer.
@PowerAirSimulations2 жыл бұрын
@@ItsMeaDMaDe You’re absolutely right one of the things that annoys me is when I want to have the print speed changed if I go to Prusa it doesn’t really break it down I’m not too sure what I’m slowing down but on Cura I could see every single thing that slows down and information about it
@ItsMeaDMaDe2 жыл бұрын
Well there are definitely pros and cons. It's nice sometimes to just hit print and forget it. With Cura sometimes there are just too many settings and you might forget to check something and the print doesn't turn out right. good and bad on both sides for sure.
@PowerAirSimulations2 жыл бұрын
@@ItsMeaDMaDe One of the things that I believe Prusa is really good at is changing filament colors, it’s basically put it where you want hit the plus Mark and that’s it.

Awesome video. Lots of helpful tips. Curious though. If I'm seeing green and yellow in spots on the "final layer" like you sonic has, is it going to look bad? I've been under the impression I want it to be all red for a good print although it seems impossible lol Wasn't sure if that meant I need to add more walls or what. Thanks
@thejinn99 Жыл бұрын
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the red means you have somewhere where you need supports in there. You may need to tell it to generate supports. I like using the tree supports because they're both easier to remove and seems to use less materials.
@mrpwrtools46552 жыл бұрын
Do you have a basic template for Cura you use to start a project? If so how do you determine what to change? I’m a nube printing for about two months and slowly upgrading my equipment as well as my knowledge. Thanks for the tips in this video!
@ItsMeaDMaDe2 жыл бұрын
Hi Glad you were able to get some good tips! You're on the right track actively trying to learn it will get you better prints faster. As for base settings I recommend watching my Cura Tutorial Playlist. The videos are in-depth explaining how I find my settings and I go over what I look at and changed every prints. Also, forgot to mention I'm currently trying to create a cheat sheet of the checklist items I focus on every time before I hit print. That is to come soon!

The checklist would be great. Us Nubes would have a way to make sure we start the prints right every time.
