Well, I can't say that I admire your time spent making that exhaustive list, but it does serve one valuable purpose: It demonstrates the sick absurdity of the fans who say Larry David/the character is admirable for supposedly saying and doing what the rest of us desire to do but restrain ourselves. The more I saw of the LD character and the other main characters on the show, the more repellent I found them--not humorously but just for being such odious human beings much of the time. (There are a couple of exceptions, like Cheryl.) Some might argue that the show is intended to revel in that bad conduct and bad motives for comic effect. But over time, it just seems repetitive and indulgent. The show starts to feel like it's not so much a critique of superficial values and bad behavior by privileged (mostly white) people living the good life as it is a juvenile romp in that very behavior. Yes, there are a few laughs and outrageous situations, and the show's overall approach is still more inventive than typical sitcoms or "reality TV" trash. But the novelty and creativity of a show using mostly improvisational performances in goofy situations wears off before long if you really want some kind of deeper experience--what a good satire would bring-- beyond the shallow celebration of noxious sociopathic clowns.

He gets shamed by all the characters who were wronged by his character, he isn't fazed by it, and he walks out of jail with the increasingly full of himself Jerry S at the end. Look, starting the episode I felt like I couldn’t enjoy it because I was worried the way it was going. I kept thinking a lot of this is funny but if this is where it’s going, I can’t enjoy this. But by the end, and that final scene I was able to look back and appreciate what he was going for. And when you realize how well the characters were handled as opposed to the Seinfeld finale… Larry and Jeff got in one last scheme Leon got in a couple more sex discussions and his Seinfeld binging story fit Cheryl and Larry had one last “marital” fight And one more time Larry messed up a relationship for Lewis and “the one” The only thing I didn’t care for was Susie in the wheelchair, seemed a little cartoonish…but it also shows the relationship between Larry and Susie. So it was a great ending of Curb because I look that was unsure while watching it and seeing where it was going but in the end, it fit the show so well

The end of a 35 year legacy of comedy. I don't think the Seinfeld finale was a fiasco. Psychologically speaking, Larry evened out the odds of the Seinfeld pattern of behaviors. All those people mistreated in the name of being funny. The true morale of it all is that one should be mindful of ones actions. If one is smart enough, one can bury someone with just words, and these slightly abusive behaviors should upon whoever deserves them. Take note of Larry's poster in his office. All of Seinfeld from first to last episode is as good as the first time they aired and received poor reviews. The poor reviews is exactly what makes it the one and only. Every sitcom post Seinfeld, channeled them, imitated them more or less. I heard that andrew schulz individual criticizing Seinfeld being overrated. Obviously he hadn't the slightest idea of what he was rambling about. When Jerry was writing comedy, andrew schulz was a snot kid rubbing two sticks together in his backyard. And years later criticizes wearing tight jeans a titan of comedy.

While I did not enjoy the trial scenes I liked the episode as a whole. Larry David obviously intended for the viewer to compare it to the Sienfeld finale. He alluded to it from the beginning of the season, by having the risk of going to jail as the season's premise, and having other characters mentioning throughout the season that he was partially responsible for the Sienfeld finale. Then the thing with the kid, where LD said he has never learned a lesson in his life - again, letting us know he's going to repeat this mistake. And finally the judge before sending him to jail saying he has a history of doing the wrong thing over and over. LD was planting the idea in our heads that he knows how bad the finale was but he's going to repeat it anyway in Curb. It was totally meta and I loved it. Then he resolved it and actually gave me closure on Siendfeld as well. If both creators agree this is how Sienfeld should have ended, then in my mind that IS how it ended.

I think there's something else to this finale. Larry in prison babbling almost has a sadness about it. He's really old now so it's kind of pathetic going on about tent pants. But then his creation, Seinfeld ,opens the jail door and leads him out of a bad place. Sure, I'm probably imagining the metaphor but there's something nice about Jerry Seinfeld breaking the good news and then walking out with him. There's a sweetness to the finale.

It could've started with them released from prison after a year and end it on New Year's Eve for the Krewmanium party

Finally, indirectly though, LD admitted that prison for Seinfeld four was not the best choice he made in his scriptwriting career. Before he always claimed that "it was fine, we wanted to bring back many side characters and do something different from other show finales because our show was not like others with happy end ... " Well , Curb was not like other shows either, but 26 years later he realized that his audience is the same who appreciates Hollywood happy ends. What was fine for "Sound of Music " in 1965 was fine for Curb in 2024.

Yes, it was an obvious echo of the Seinfeld series finale with all kinds of people coming forward in court to tell how Larry had insulted them, cheated them, defrauded them, made their lives miserable, etc. The Seinfeld finale was a total disaster for a show that deserved something worthy of its legend. This Curb finale was just doubling down on the show's more ridiculous and repetitive conceits. I thought it was mostly just a heavier dose of self-indulgence by Larry David and the crew, even enlisting Jerry Seinfeld to play himself as the obnoxious egotist and superficial prick that he is. The Curb series has had some clever and comical moments, and the original Seinfeld series remains possibly the best sitcom ever (thanks to the other three key cast members). But the more I've seen of Curb, off and on over time, the more insufferable I find the guy and his shtick. (His buddy Jeff is also a dumb foil for Larry, upstaged by his shrewish wife. And Leon got increasingly repetitive and annoying.) Larry comes across primarily as a self-centered, unfiltered jerk who has a fantasy life in which he can say and do whatever he wants, pointlessly irreverent and thoughtless rather than admirable in doing so.

Great ending. The rest of the episode was sort of meh. Larry was even more aggressively obnoxious than usual. The wheelchair sympathy thing was just horrid. Some stuff seemed forced and empty. Other things paid off well and were funny, like Jerry. Loved the series and will miss it!
