I have two eco-drive watches. Both worked when I got them, but once they're broken they're usually toast. That Casio chronograph is something I'd cheerfully wear too. I used to wear a Casio Databank, until a "jeweler" killed it. Repaired and happily worn by a buyer in New Zealand of all places. It's great to see a wounded bird watch back to life!

As he shared, ‘it appears to be the remains of a watchmakers replacement parts stash’. When I was a very young child there was a watchmaker in the neighborhood that repaired watches. He had similar bins. He allowed myself and my siblings to “play” with the parts, as long as we put the parts back in the bin we took it from. He was more organized than this in that he had separate bins for faces, backs, etc. I was so intrigued with all the shinny bits and bobs.😁

Steampunk artists would love this pile of parts. Glad you found one really nice working watch and perhaps a few more that will work plus some parts for repairs. I have a small woman's Timex I got back in 1977 as an 8th grade graduation gift from an old family friend. One of my sons overwound it when they were little. I'm thinking about getting it fixed. A watch repair shop told me they could fix it for about $25 or so, which is more than it's worth but I just loved this little watch because I have really small wrists plus it is sentimental.
@JeanStAubin-nl9uo11 ай бұрын
That doesn't sound like such a bad price to fix it. I remember my watch my parents gave me for 8th grade graduation in 1975 (back when that was the popular graduation gift). It was a Caravelle with regular numbers, not roman numerals, it had a round face. The seconds hand was red and it had a leather strap. I loved that watch! Every so often I go on Ebay and try to find it. I have found what I thought was it but it was so beat up and the crystal was scratched.
