I have been drinking the Calumet 15 which i love. I just picked up this 16 yr bottle for 124.00 at total wine and am looking forward to comparing the two!

Great review guys! I was lucky to try many pours of the 15 from a buddy who had it muled from the states. Outstanding bottle and the fact that the bourbon community underrated likely lead to us getting our hands on it. Would LOVE to have the 16!

It is mostly about flavor. I always think of it as 80-90% flavor, 10-20% “other."

Yes. Same with Calumet 14yo. Both were more oak forward for sure. this 16yo is got just greater levels of balance to tame that oak. impressive after 16yrs in a barrel.

16 has a beautiful 10 front palate but the burnt wood finish ruined it for me. Not a fan. 15 is probably a winner for me.

Hmm I think its priced to high for such a low proof. Knob Creek 15 year, Remus Repeal, ECBP etc. are cheaper and almost as old. Don’t water it down, make it a barrel strength blend or at least 110 proof (preferably higher) and then I’ll buy it for $150. Dillon is hilarious when he’s arguing and disagreeing with everybody 😂.

Those others are all hunted for by taters and all go over $200 the day they're found. I know of at least a handful of places where this just sits on the shelf for $150.
