Thank you for this demonstration. It was very helpful and it's wonderful how easy you make it look. I can tell you have many years of experience, which is why you make it look so effortless. Your work is quite beautiful. Would you please be willing to share where you got the silicone mold? You mentioned Amazon, but I've not been able to find anything even remotely like it there. The ones I've found are very thick and deep, unlike the one you have. Many thanks in advance!

I fell in love with clay my senior year of high school and since then it’s basically all I think about. Beautiful work. I do have a question for you. I have had issues with taking the clay up from the table top. After rolling the clay out it sticks. Is there too much water in the clay? Janell Harvey I remove them before they get leather hard. I keep an eye on them to make sure the cup will wiggle out.

Really appreciate this tutorial! Couple of questions. What surface are you working on? About the cutting template - it looks like the length (therefore the mug circumference) it is based on the repeat of the texture template. So the cut edges are in the middle of a repeat. Make sense?

I had a carpenter build me a table and I placed a hardiebacker cement board on top. It’s great for wedging, recycling and handbuilding. 😂 The template worked out perfect for this mug. The height was what I use for my 12 oz. mugs. The length (circumference) need to be short since my mugs are only 11 inch around
