Practical setup Shipley. Not a Dynabro replica. Looks awesome and highway worthy. I'm on a 2020 RKS and have a similar setup. I've been on the fairing bikes (RG and E-glides) since 2002 and finally got tired of all the tech in the dash that I never used. I like my tunes so I have a Cardo Packtalk but the rest you can have. Last time I rode with a bunch of new bikers on their very shiny and new RGs and Ultras, all they did the whole trip was complain about their GPS, their com systems, what channel are we on, my weather channel isn't working, blah blah blah. Right there I decided I don't want all that tech anymore and I'm not riding with these idiots anymore. RK is for me. All I need is a speedo and after 30 years on the bikes I don't even need that. Nice work on this RK.

How’s the wind splitter as far as helmet lift. I love wearing a half helmet but with my RKS the lift is to bad not to mention on longer trips it’s like im getting beat to shit by the wind drop kicking me in my chest like
@simplybeingshipley10 ай бұрын
The wind splitter has not had any issues with buffeting. I write a full face helmet, but I keep the chin guard off so I understand the lift that you’re experiencing. With the adjustable vent on the windshield I don’t think you’ll have any problem at all. Thank you for watching.

Are you over 6’ and if so how do you like the windsplitter?
@simplybeingshipley Жыл бұрын
I am 5 foot nine. I believe that I saw a video from Matt Laidlaw, that it worked well for him as well. He’s 6 foot two. As far as the windshield goes, it is the best I’ve ever had on any bike.

@@simplybeingshipley I like everything about it but have been disappointed with several windshields now so hesitant to spend that much without testing.

I'm 5-9 and sit on a LePera Daytona 2-up on my 2020 RKS. It's a pretty low seat but the wind over the WindSplitter was still smacking me just above the eyebrows. I fab'd a stainless tab about 1"x3" that bolts to the shield bracket with two machine bolts on each side. I powder coated the stainless brackets black. The tabs are on either side and have slots in the tabs where the upper bolts affix to the bike. This allows me to move the shield fore and aft along the top bolts about 1" when the bolts are loose which effectively moves the top of the shield fore and aft about 3-3.5". When the shield is moved forward the top of the shield rises which pushes the bubble right over my head. Moving the shield forward also creates greater clearance between taller handlebars. The top tabs are bolted on so this shield cannot just walk away without understanding the system and unbolting it. Thieves won't mess with anything they need to spend time on. 100 mph test with the shield pushed forward- smooth as glass. No issues. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5nMc2enndaLlbs

Why don't u put a light bar for your turn signals for the batwing, fixing to pull the trigger on 2022 rks putting apes on it a d those turnsignals gotta go somewhere else, u said its not possible?
@simplybeingshipley11 ай бұрын
The turn signal wiring harness for the rks is different than any other touring bike. On the left side of the frame right before the forks are mounted, you can see the blinker connections. They are different sizes.

How much for the batwing? I have a '21 RKS with 14" apes and I'm replacing with 16" apes and mounting auxiliary lights and turn signals the way the Road King classic is. Very easily done.

@simplybeingshipley11 ай бұрын
It already has the hardware installed on the batwing. All you need is the bolts to secure it to the bike. my cell number is above. If you are interested, text me your address and I will see what I can do to figure out how to ship it to you and then let you know the cost.

What happened to the flush mount fork signals? I’m looking to install those on mine soon…any recommendations before I start fu**ing shit up??
@simplybeingshipley10 ай бұрын
Yes. Don’t do it. I loved how they functioned and how they looked. They were perfect. Except for the fact that the wiring is just too thin. The RKS has different connectors on the left and right side for the turn signals as opposed to the standard RK, which has the same on each side. So I had to use a splice to get the wiring to connect, and the difference between the actual thickness and ability to channel the load on the bike wiring, as opposed to how thin the wiring is on the turn signals kept causing problems.
@BigChief90910 ай бұрын
@@simplybeingshipley do you think is was from running both stock hand signals and the flush mounts? I’m removing the handle bar signals completely do you think this will be more of an issue?
@simplybeingshipley10 ай бұрын
That I am unsure of. I did keep the stock turn signals. I do know that if I were to consider putting them back on, I would have them wired by the dealership just to be certain. The product itself is amazing.
