I started making this while I was "Snowbirding" in Southern California last winter, I made it at least once a week while we were away. Since returning to Canada in early May I have been making this dish every two weeks for our family here, it is always a great success I serve it with chickpea curry (Bumbi's recipe) and rice. Hello Bumbi . I have a question for you. I used to go to the Krishna temple on Sundays. And they used to have a fritter that tasted just like meat but it was not meat obviously. And they would serve it in either yogurt sauce or a tomato curry Do you have any idea what this could be?

By the way us South African have a love affair with all Indian food Just the best .As a young white boy my granny work with an Indian family in the 1960's and the Indian family would always gift granny with spicy food She couldnt eat it but boy oh boy did I learn to fall for Indian spices as a 5 year old.Bless all spice lovers

I could smell it in the air as I approached home returning from school as a teen. Superb indeed ! I used ghee and mustard oil, 1 black and 4 green cardamoms and also added ½ tbsp of methi (dried), also cassia instead of cinnamon and a tablespoon of organic ketchup instead of sugar 👍🏻, it was perfect ... Thank you Bumbi 😘
