Great review, thanks Wayne. If equated to animals, this would be a racing giraffe, so not surprised that it doesn't impress. I built a 7" cruiser based on the Eachine Tyro 129 workings and an IFlight 7" frame and it is brilliant and gets amazingly long flight times. Bigger just doesn't make much sense to me and look dangerous. Your review here agreed with my suspicions and I could not imagine flying that thing anywhere other than in huge wide open fields like you have access to there. Cheers.

My ten inch runs so efficient you can easily get away with xt6... the amps are low believe it or not because the props don't spin as much as like a five inch does. I absolutely love the way a big quad flies!!

Thank you for the review. I would like to see a video on how to tune a 10-inch quad. I've just built a 10-inch quad but it flies so horrible. I tested it with stock tuning to see how it flies initially but it needs a lot of work to get it to fly smoothly if it ever did.

Try with a really big battery, maybe even go 8S, i think it is capable for that And load it up with 2kg to 3kg of cargo to really find out how it flies normally. I would really like to know how These large cargo drones handle "everyday usage" under reallife load and power cobditions. Please check all connections carefilly and verify right torque of each screw, especcially for the FC, camera, VTX, motors and frame. Try larger and improved antennas. You probably have to view this quad as a cheap base for a single usecase. It is NOT cheap, as far as i know, so it fails on this point instantly. Can you make it carry real loada and behave normally over some larger distances, thats what is important.

To me, It certainly looked like a slug from the video. But the picture captured on your ground based video when it flew by gave me the impression that it was moving right along. Question: can that unit take 8s or 12s Power? I Was wondering though if the props or a prop is out of balance or a blade is not tracking in line with the other blades?? If you have the inclination to put a GPS module and use your walksnail VTX running a Rush Cherry may make things better for your flying. Not sure what to do with the elrs. On that size wondering if ol Crossfire would be the receiver to use on this big frame??
@CurryKitten3 ай бұрын
I think it cruises at a reasonable speed - though hard to tell without a GPS unit telling me for sure. I haven't opened up the frame to check the FC/ESC board, but basing on what Sequre sell, I think it will support 4-8S. But that's not to say the motors will (not on that size prop at least) The Crossfire antenna would be the same as the ELRS one, so I think it's more a matter of orientation to help in not blocking the signal. I might circle around to this again and see if it's a case of pid and filter tune.

?? This video is just wrong and needs to be re-done. There are two HUGE problems here. 1) You CAN NOT fly this drone with a "Single P" 4,000mAh L-Ion battery pack. The best high discharge rate L-Ions discharge at 10C, which, assuming you are using the best, means this pack of yours is only good for 40Amps MAX. These motors here can draw as much as 68A from the batteries- EACH. For a total of 272 Amps. Your battery pack is off by a factor of approx. 7, which is enormous. Even if you ASSUME you never go higher than 60% throttle, if you look it up, you will see that you are STILL off by a factor of 3 or more. I don't even want to venture a guess as to how many problems this could cause in your drone. When L-Ions packs are used successfully in drones, it is usually with 4-6P packs driving either just one motor in an airplane situation, or multi-rotors with carefully selected motor/prop combo's that don't draw too much current. 2) It does not look like you balanced your props which is mandatory for props of this size. Not only do you need to balance them, but you need to run each motor/prop combo independently and make sure EACH PAIR does not vibrate at all across the full throttle range, and you need to do that before you go flying. Something tells me that was not done. If you resolve both of these issues, I am sure you will think very differently about this drone. In practice, the larger a drone is, the LESS "jello" appears in videos. This is really simple physics. If you are flying a big drone and you see any jello at all, you know immediately that you have a serious problem on your hands.
@CurryKittenАй бұрын
This drone claimed to be able to fly for 45 minutes on a 10000mAh 6S Lipo. Given that flight time, I think it's reasonable to think the quad should have been very efficient. Obviously i wasn't expecting that much flight time from my 4000mAh li-Iona, but they are rated for a continuous discharge of 35A - and based on the claim, I thought that was achievable on low throttle. Don't forget I was flying with 2 in series... for a while at least until it decided to drop one of them. The main reason not to use Lipos is that I simply don't have 6S's of that size. Yes, I'd accept that some of that jello could be down to a lack of balance in the props, but one thing I think you are missing is problem with this frame itself. Most quads of this size don't simply have a X shaped frame, they have secondary struts to reinforce the frame - as without that you have a certain amount of resonance in the frame which I think contributed a lot to the shakiness. When someone does send me an RTF quad, I take it that it is "ready to fly" so I present the quad as it comes "out of the box" I may well come back to it and attempt to make it better - but that would be for another video.
