Heh we have other issue. During summer is too hot, plus is mass of bugs, flys, mosquitoes,... with FPV goggles on and flying drone somewhere, it's hard situation. This bugs then eat me alive. Jhhhh. Spring and Autumn are best times for flying. GL.

z-fighting is something we constantly deal with in AAA games also. if things are too close even Unreal4 freaks out, you just have to make sure there are tiny gaps everywhere there are 2 meshes on top of each other or hide them where they don't render anyway.

Yes - I had several textures sitting on one another, and a lot of times where I had uneven surfaces I'd roughly bought the same up to cover any gaps. All the desktop versions and iOS were absolutely fine with this, it was only Android that freaked out. That said, the redesigns I needed to do for Android are certainly "cleaner" so not a bad effort to fix them

@@SubaStar24 Make the cats bigger !? Maybe an autocorrection for gates? If so it's next on my list. I've been experimenting with laying out gates and having them light up for the order you should fly them along with a directional curve for your path... I haven't been doing much work on it lately though, because the weather is nice so I'm trying to get actual flying in:) There's never a massive amount of people online (it actually won't support that many with me having to pay loads of money to hosting people) and you can't see people that aren't in the same location of servers as you. Really the best way to play online is to pre-arrange it with some friends in advance and setup a voice channel via something else like discord so you can chat while you play

Asking about a different Sim in a video about my Sim.. the outrage!!! But no, despite the chips being the same, there's a very different build process between iOS and MacOS. Also you can't just run anything on iOS. You have to get lots of signing certificates just to get it built, more to upload it to the app store and then you have to wait for certification... it's a right pain

Well I purchased this and was hoping to use is on my iPad Pro 12.9 with my TX16S II using the ranger elrs module using the BLE game pad function. Connects to the iPad but I don’t have the option for advanced settings to map out controls within the sim. Bummer lol

No. I’m sorry to tell you (although I’m pretty sure I mentioned it in the video) apple restricts what devices are allowed to connect to iOS so unless they are MFi certified (which no hobby radios are) you can’t use them. I can’t find a workaround here at all. Android allows anything to connect, but with iOS joystick wise you are looking at Xbox and PlayStation controllers

The iPad is more of a problem here than which controller to use. Because Apple insist on MFi certification on any joystick that connects it means that whilst things like PS4 or Xbox One S controllers are fine, most other 3rd party joysticks... including all hobby radios won't connect, Whilst the DJI FPV controller (the one that works with air units) will work just fine on desktop, or Android... sadly on iOS it's a no.

$1.99 is perfectly reasonable for an app. Honestly, it's basically nothing, even for people strapped for cash. I'll lose that much in change falling out of my pocket sitting in the grass or wherever. When I was a kid, you could never get a game that cheap. If you happen to find a bargain bin game for like$5-10, you best believe that it'll be trash. What I'm saying is that $1.99 isnt much of a risk on a game that has the potential to be really fun, and if it sucks, you didn't lose a meal. I think the effort you put forth is worth the$1.99 support ask. I plan to purchase the app and give it a shot

Two things here - firstly, Apple don't allow just any controller to connect, it has to be MFi certified - which no hobby controller is (including ELRS) you'll be able to connect to it as a bluetooth device, but it won't do anything. Android is happy to allow any device, but the BT controller code for ELRS doesn't seem to work on Android. There's an issues raised on github about it

Hiya, this is a pretty decent sim and im looking forward to using it. The only problem is, I recently bought the iphone 15 which has usb c and I have the BETA FPV LiteRadio 3 Radio Transmitter. Is there a way to connect them as this iphone has usb c (unlike previous models) and maybe use the OTG cable and usb mini to connect to my iphone? Im only asking as I have yet to buy the cables and I dont want to waste my money on them If I have no use.

Don't waste your money on a cable. Apple don't simply allow OTG cables and anything that's not been MFi certified - which is not radio ever. If you look at this follow up video kzbin.info/www/bejne/a37Kh5RolpKHidk&ab_channel=CurryKitten you'll see that a workaround has been implemented to use a wifi joystick via an ELRS radio. Unfortunately I think this rules out the LiteRadio 3 as BetaFPV have done their own thing on the firmware and you can't simply upgrade it to the required level and put it into wifi mode.

You can stick it in google cardboard now, but I haven't supported VR head movement things... mostly because nobody flies a quad with a pan/tilt camera. The only other thing about using it at the moment is that if you need to do something that you can't assign to your controller, you need to poke a finger in to get to your screen to change something else

You can fly a plane in the sim, but I'm not completely happy with the way it handles as I kind of came up with the flight dynamics on a post-it note. So I'd want to get this sorted before adding any other fixed wing models

I just installed it. I’ve had an iPhone since the 3GS (long time) and I think it’s only the 4th app I’ve bought 😂 It looks good, half the cost of one beer and I learned that I can pair my Xbox controller to my phone 🤯 I have a goggle box that my phone fits in too but haven’t tried yet 👍🏻

Sadly not (at least at the moment) iOS requires that any USB device it be plugged into be MFI (made for iphone/ipad) it's a sort of certification from Apple so you can't simply plug in a USB adapter and have it work... nor can you pair non MFI bluetooth controllers. If a workaround appears (perhaps some sort of device that can act as a bluetooth to USB router) then I'll be sure to cover it

Yes - which right now is mainly the Xbox One (but not the very first edition) and the PS4 controllers (+ a few others). I guess some of the HOTAS stuff for running MS flight sim should also work, but they are generally pretty expensive so I've not had a chance to test

It's an Apple thing - they don't let you connect anything to an iOS device which isn't MFi certified. Essentially you are left with some game controllers and no radio at all

Hi there - I've only just upgraded a module to ELRS v2 so the Bluetooth joystick mode is something I've just come across. If you are using iOS don't expect it to work - unless it's MFi certified from Apple it won't be recognised. I was able to fly with ELRS joystick on my desktop and it bound to Android, but isn't listed as a joystick. I'll be investigating this and seeing where the problem lies

Android is generally good with wired devices, so plenty of people plugging in Taranis, Radiomaster etc via an OTG cable. One of the problems for me is that I can test on a few devices, but lots of vendors customise their own Android versions and according to the app store there's over 9000 difference devices which is a lot of room for vendors to screw up their own versions

I've tested it on my phone with an empty unity game, just to see if I got anything. There is an input device registered for bluetooth but Nokia only included HID profiles for a handful of devices. Over USB nothing works on this phone either, host mode is there with support for USB ethernet but not mass storage or HID devices... It really needs a kernel update.

As you probably know, app store purchases are tied to your Apple id, but it you have multiple iphone, ipads/etc all with the same Apple id, you can use multiple devices (at the same time if you want)

Yes, it should do - just based on the fact that M1's should be able to run any iOS app, as well as the desktop version via Rosetta. I haven't tested it myself as I don't have one. My daughter has an M1 iMac on order though, so will attempt to test out when it arrives

I can't say that all Android devices will work the same, there's just too many hardware combos, but the vast majority seem to support OTG, and that pretty much means you can plug in a cable or a hub and it should work.

But also have a moderately recent Samsung phone which should have fairly good compatibility. But as you said it can differ between mobile devices, so I will definitely look into it more, and research which hubs will be compatible. Just wasn't sure if the taranis would interact with a hub attatched to mobile. Thank you for showing it can be done. Will definitely pick up the mobile version now that I know it works. Will be great for days that I am unable to fly, or run my generator, for the full steam version. Keep up the great work!

Yep - and by default, it'll start like this. If you go into Radio/Joystick setup, the sticktype of Gamepad uses the centre point as zero, change that to Radio and the zero point of the throttle is at the bottom of the stick range as per normal

The problem I find is that even in joystick mode, the stick goes back to middle range and the quad takes off if I take my thumb off at all. Playing on a iPhone 12. A more linear low range on the throttle would make it much better on small screens, as is it is very difficult to hover without bunny hopping. Thanks.

@@spottedcrow1126 If you are playing with touch controls and the quad is throttling up (in gamepad mode without any throttle) then something is amiss. It absolutely shouldn't do that. If you are playing with a joystick, then it's quite possible - as the Dual Shocks and Xbox pads of this world can have a deadzone or around 20% in many cases. The throttle range is actually completely linear - perhaps what you are asking for is some throttle expo, so you have more fine control around the centre of the stick range?

Hi, I should have mentioned that I am currently using the sim with only my touch screen. Yes, when in radio mode (so zero throttle is at the bottom) the throttle automatically returns to mid position when released, which as expected allows the quad to take off. Perhaps you could have a mode for touchscreen controls that allows the throttle to not return to center and for zero throttle to be at the bottom? Maybe you could also make the travel for the throttle greater? Or perhaps a little less sensitive for us newbies on small screens, it’s currently a bit difficult for me to modulate it with my low skill leve. Would be pretty cool. RIght now the wind any rain are just cosmetic, that don't affect handling - which could change. Whilst I was developing it the lighting could actually knock you out of the sky - but it was less exciting than it sounds, you could get hit without seeing any exciting flashes so it just looked like you'd randomly crash sometimes

Nope - the iOS version won't work with many devices at all due to Apples insistence that any USB or Bluetooth device must be MFI certified. Which generally limits it down to a few regular joypads. It's pretty annoying, but then again - so are Apple when it comes to this!

It can run on an iphone, but not using a DJI radio. Blame Apple for needing devices to be MFi licensed and DJI for doing their own proprietary thing

It'll work fine on iOS, but Apple insists on every USB device being MFI certified in order to be recognised, and very few joysticks have this. I'm pretty sure no radio does, which is why it's mainly the very mainstream Xbox/PS4 joysticks that are supported and no much else is.

why not add a free version with ads? you can earn money from ads and we can play your sim in every country. apple has very backwards and restricted payment options when you switch country codes.

Because I hate games with ads. I wouldn't play them, and I wouldn't expect others to. I think the mobile version ws priced pretty keenly, and you can pick up the desktop version for free still

If you want to create something, then do it and work it out as you go. That's what I did. Unity has a bunch of free courses on their website that will teach you the basics of the engine.... but they won't teach you how to make a sim, that's the bit that takes time and effort. But start small, and build upon it

It should work with a Gamesir, I haven' tested it myself, but as long as it presents itself to the system as a joystick, then the sim will pick it up

I cant stand web browsing or youtube on mobile devices PC is king! Casual games are ok on my phone or tablet and might give it a try, i wonder what android will make of a TX being plugged in?

Me neither, but my wife books flights and allsorts on her phone - even though most of the detail of the PC screen is missing! As long as your Android device supports OTG, your USB Radio should be recognised

The desktop version can be downloaded for free from the github site. The mobile version has some costs overheads to keep it in the relevant store fronts, so is chargable. I tend to think if you can afford a phone contract, then an app that's $2 shouldn't break the bank

Thank you for making the Sim. I know that takes a lot of time and effort. When I get caut up on bills I definitely wanna grab it. I crashed my last kwad and I'm dying to fly. I'm just not good at repairs lol. I can fly pretty good just cand build lol. Maybe my fingers are too fat 🤔 😆

Controllers: i own a „mad catz“ xbox style controller which works. But there are 2 editions of that controller: mfi certified which works on iPads and iPhones only and the pc version which runs on windows and android. Thank you apple 🤮

Interestingly I know lots of people who enjoy the building/fixing aspect more than the flying! (I'm not one of them) No rush, it's not going anywhere, and should be getting updates/improvements over times anyway.

I am same story. To fast fingers and lack of patients. So I rather buy rtf builds and enjoy flying instead of curling over the bench of days trying to solder something.. ech. Not best hobby I picked I guess.. maybe is time to move to book reading or story writing if anything manual seems to be to difficult..(?)

You can only use the DJI FPV controllers on Sims. The others have their own proprietary protocol
