It was a sign of prosperity, and as most such standards were at the time, it was led by the nobility (who could afford to patronize the arts), whose women were expected not to engage in physical activity. To my knowledge, truly obese people haven't ever really been considered physically attractive, though they have sometimes been considered good prospects since they could obviously afford to feed themselves. so the Aladdin story is really more accurate than disney's rip off. The real finder of the lamp was tricked into getting it from the mysterious temple that appeared. His 'uncle' intended to steal the lamp from him when he got out, but Aladdin out smarted him by accident. He had a seemingly unlimited amount of wishes that had no rules or regulations. He kinda sorta did r^p3 the sultan's daughter, multiple times and eventually tricked the sultan into thinking Aladdin was a wealthy prince and married her. The mysterious 'uncle' eventually snuck into Aladdin's home and sabotaged him by making him wish for something that could threaten the Genie's life, and the Genie abandoned Aladdin after explaining how selfish, ungrateful, and stupid Aladdin was/is.
@challengeaccepted56136 ай бұрын
And also the story is originally Chinese, tho it is featured in the Arabian nights. This is just a really exaggerated retelling. There are many versions to the story .
@MrGksarathy6 ай бұрын
The version I read had Aladdin's wife getting tricked into giving the uncle/magician the lamp, but Aladdin was able to get it back with the help of his genie in the ring.
@MrGksarathy6 ай бұрын
@@challengeaccepted5613I have not seen anywhere that the story was Chinese at all, merely that Aladdin is from the East to contrast the Magician being from the Maghreb, the far west of the Islamic world.
