I think they did it because they did not want the 1911s in warzone to be too different or for the 1911 to be different in multiplayer and warzone. It could have been the meta in warzone, as a 9mm with a 30r capacity having vanguard stats and good controlability with a stock, but that would be too cool.

Luger is probably the one and only gun where in-game attachments are less cursed than things that were sold in gun magazines before WW2. LUGER STOCK FULL CARBINE CONVERSION COLLAPSIBLE STOCK (several types of them, some are less collapsible, some more...) DIFFERENT BARREL LENGTHS and, of course, ultra-rare test trial luger in .45 caliber (made for planned american contract which ultimately was rejected.)

And its handling related stats still got impeded because it's a long barrel, even though the main point of fluting is for saving weight, which can (at least seemingly) influence the handling xD.
