Part 4: • Curtis Carroll on Gett...
Part 1: • Curtis "Wall Street" C...
--------
Curtis "Wall Street" Carroll, reflecting on his experience as a minor in prison, sheds light on the harsh realities young inmates face, particularly the lack of support and harsh judgments from the judicial system. Arrested at 17 and tried as an adult, Curtis felt the system unfairly labeled him due to his background-being black, impoverished, and unsupervised by any family in court. Sentenced to 54 years to life without even verifying his literacy, Curtis described entering prison as a jarring, rapid adjustment to a chaotic, violent environment. In prison, young inmates like Curtis were seen as easy targets for older, more experienced prisoners. Curtis highlighted the psychological games and mind tactics that dominated the prison environment, noting that while physical rape wasn't prevalent, mental manipulation was rampant. His refusal to fall victim to these psychological games led to significant physical and mental punishment. Curtis's narrative underscores the failed duty of care by the judicial system toward minors and the brutal initiation they face in adult prisons.

It is true sentencing for minors is based on the economic and social status of the parents. They do not need to be rich, but they do need to demonstrate that they are invested in the well-being of the child. Black children coming from a household of educated parents, with professional careers, who have access to good medical care, and who can spend time with their child doing positive activities such as church, family time, and athletics will be in a much better position when going to court. Most of the time the court will let the family handle the matter. A single mom who does not have a high level of education, a poor income stream, lack of family support, and living in a bad school district is a recipe for disaster. Spend time with your kids, go to PTA meetings, know all their teachers, do social things together, talk to them about working and university, know all their friends, take them to the doctor, and make sure you're doing right by them.

Because u haven't been to prison... That's not as common as y'all think. There's no abuse. West Coast has race politics to keep things in line... On the east, ur on ur own but it's mostly gang run. Down South they still do the SA thing, which is frowned upon on the coast. On the coast, ur judged by who u hang with... U get a quick rundown on how to function in there and that's it. It's weird that y'all think everyone goes thru abuse. I went to prison at 19 (I'm 39 now)... It's a mental game where u see his preying on ppl. Strength games are also a no go because that's someone testing to see if u can be manhandled... Unfortunately, it's a lot of Huwight guys that get preyed on and they're the ones who have to worry the most. For extortion too
