Cushcore vs Rimpact | They are Both Good

Cushcore damps better. It sits more evenly square and because it actively influences carcass shape it does a better overall job

Thank you for posting a thoughtful review! Gonna try cushcore- I’m all in on chunky trails and a smoother ride sounds good. Rear only or front and rear? Anyone welcome to offer thoughts.

If you want even more protection Rimpact do an EDH which is offers more protection than the pro.

@@seanflanagan3823 Too late I bought the pro! It seems really solid though and I'm happy with it. It was a real son of a bitch to get on though. Metal tire levers are the way to go because I broke two plastic ones in the process.

What differences would there be running an EXO+ casing with cush core vs a DD casing? How would they differ in sidewall support and damped feel?

I’ve ran both situations you speak of and I think it will come down to whether it’s for the front or back. Starting with the back, if you ran exo+ with cushcore, you would get a slightly less harsh of a ride, less sidewalk deformation on cornering and obviously rim and pinch flat protection. If you ran DD in the back without cushcore, you could possibly run the same pressure since it’s a thicker casing but the ride will feel harsher due to stiffer carcass flex. I have dinged rims still with DD and cushcore but only at bike parks with big rocks. Also if you corner hard you can still get sidewall deformation on hard cornering. The front will almost be identical to the back but in my experience you can really experiment with lower tire pressures for grip while still having cornering integrity. I would say with exo+ you could run between 15-20 depending on the terrain and if you really corner hard. With DD you could even try less

Worst experience using Cush core, It feels like a flat tire. I had a terrible accident jumping on a downhill tracks, It was like the bike don't roll or go the correct speed for jumping and It feels heavy on the rear tire. I prefer to break the rim, but not myself. I prefer using tubeless with a good tire compound or regular tubes with the liner band tube protector the bike rolls better or gain speed for big jumps. Cush core maybe good for tracks without long distance jumps, small jumps or rocky terrain to give more protection to the rims. My recommendation, never use Cush core for long distance jumps. Some other reviews say that tannus tubeless could be a good option, or just putting some tubeless sealant inside the regular inner tube to prevent a puncture.
