In this video I build a brand new motor for a subscriber turned friend. He wanted a new motor and I needed help with a computer, so together we came up with the idea to build him a one off custom motor. We chose a brand new CDH110 85cc to turn into his new powerhouse for his daily.

Thank you for all the great info.I cleaned the 'flashing' from the ports in mine, but wasn't smart enough to look in and turn it over before putting the head on and running it.Allot of low end grunt but NO 'top' as it seemed choked. A head stud pulled from the base so I took it apart,(duh right?), and looked at the ports as I turned it over.1/4th of exhaust wasn't opened at top,about 1/2 the transfers weren't open toward the bottom,as was 1/3" of the intake port at it's bottom.Wish I'd bought a 90degree grind adapter before fighting an hour to get my transfers open.You're so right about the 'sleeve' looking like they just pressed it in without looking.My Minimum removal was 1/8th" and over 1/4" for exhaust and intakes just to match the alum., and that was before I did this clean-up.

It’s nuts how bad they can be but once those few problems are fixed I find them to be one of the best motors for a daily. I never work on mine on Jokester and it’s got a lot of miles on it. I would imagine I’ll need to go through it soon cause the connecting rod crank bearings seem to blow out of my motors before anything else cause of the wear I put them through with all the miles but I think that says volumes for the motor I build in the long run. Thanks for comment and watching.

Good job turning junk into something usable....I remember seeing those 52mm a couple years ago for cheap like $120....I thought it had great potential. Being 52mm, 2 piece top end, with iron sleeve. They would have sold like crazy if they were properly made. Instead of being comically bad, as LA Hover described. Being in NJ & now that you have a welder. You might wanna look for a cheap used snowblower with a good 4 or 5hp 2 stroke engine in it to put on a bike. I found 2 snowblowers for free but my dumbass threw out 1 with a 3hp 2 stroke engine coz I was running outta storage space. I still have the 4.5hp 2 stroke one though. To eventually put on a bike. But for now it'll be quicker & easier to get another bike kit.

Yeah it a really shame they didn’t try a lil harder to build them correctly to give them a good rep, but once you fix them it’s the best daily motor kit you can get for a daily rider.

This one just attaches to my rotory tool shaft so I can switch between this and the normal head I use. The normal head is an upgraded one too though so I can use 1/4” shaft bits like a regular drill and stuff cause I couldn’t find long shafted bits in 1/8” cause that’s what ever tool is made with for the basic dermal and rotory tools. I feel like I got the perfection now to play in this hobby the way I want.

Nice looks cool. Didn't know those cylinders require that amount of work, stil planing on having one. The sunburn from welding can cause skin cancer, I would be more careful with welding. It can really burn, not a pleasant feeling. It's finally getting warm here in Canada and snow melting.

Yeah for sure, I’m goin to get a full helmet to stop that just can’t yet. Also to make these run well they really only need a good port job. There’s other ways to go about it and raise the cylinder with spacer cut top off or put diff cranks in but easiest to make good reliability is just clean it and port it and run it.

@@JMB676 at the very least if you are going use the welding goggles,covering up any exposed skin including hands, arms, arms and maybe a ski mast with the welding goggles on top. Might look funny but I'd do it anyway. When you went for the test drive, did it make the power that you expected? More power than a 80cc all the way around in all rpm right?

@@michaelbrinks8089 I have had flash burn on my eyes before the second time I ever tried welding and it was horrible, feels like blinking with sandpaper. After that I never didn’t wear eye protection. Unfortunately I only have glasses or goggle shaped eye protection but hopefully by summer I can get myself a full face helmet before I start my big project I have planned. But I’ll still be using them for the new pipe I’m build for the Minarelli and Jokesters new pipe too I have bought and waiting for the warmer weather to stay around a lil longer so I can start building it and the other upgrades I have planned.
@JMB676

@@dominikweber4005 the ski mask is a great idea to be honest and I never thought of it, thank you for heads up. As far as the power it made more power all the way around in a few ways. With the stock pipe n carb it made more then a ported 80 but it was very noticeable that it was being choked by the exhaust and couldn’t expel the gases quick enough. Which is why it was so slow gaining speed and would only rev to 35mph. With the aftermarket pipe and carb it could expel them much easier and that’s why it revved up so much nicer. Now I know it have done that with the stock carb and that aftermarket pipe for sure cause the issue was only getting the gases out since I was fairly mild with the ports. Norm only wanted a good daily motor, or basically just something he could ride all the time without worrying about. However I have not stretched the legs on one of these motors yet but after all the miles I put on mine and after building a few of these now with different wants out of each one I have yet to even get close to the actual limit of the motors power with stock parts. But stay tuned because I am planning on taking Jokesters motor off and apart to see how the wear is doin to it since it’s had about 18k problem free miles on it and I want to see how all the internal parts are doin. And since I’ll have it apart I also want to see about changing a couple things because I bought a new carb for it and a new cylinder and planned on putting a small reed on it but after seeing the carb and just studying a few things on these motors and others I’m really thinking about fitting a dio reed on it to fit the bigger carb just to see what kind of rpm and horsetorques I can get out of one of these just for fun. Cause if it can give me this many trouble free miles just from proper port flow and descent oil then I can tell it can stand up to way more power. Cause don’t think jokesters motor is a bum cause it definitely isn’t. It still pulls 47-48mph all day. But it’s definitely tired because new build it pulled 52mph then it slowly just lost lil by lil till it finally sat at 47-48 now for a long time. I am also thinking this has to do with my mz65 clone as it aged and I’m thinking there’s bad welds or cheap welds that are collecting buildup from the exhaust and slowly clogging it up because the motor itself makes now noises or any other signs of use or being tired outside of a slower rev and takes longer to get to its speeds. So since I’m keeping the same motor setup I’m thinking I’ll build the new exhaust and see if that helps bring it back before I break it down to see how it’s wearing. Either way there’s a lot going on and tons more videos I want to do. Hope you stick out around to find out and watch….

@@KenC56mm it definitely does and seen it first hand a few times before I knew what I was dealing with and once I found it and fixed the issue and that was the only thing I changed and fixed the motor had more grunt, like a lot more, and it revved up faster and smoother. Free port or cross talk has a huge effect on the motors and I do not understand how people that know what they are supposedly talking about can say it has no effect or a minimal effect. It really just cements the fact that most people are full of it or truly do not know near as much as they would like us to believe. Kenyon wait till you see this one motor I actually bought that came in a “box lot”. It’s a saw hybrid that I was told is ready to go if I “toss a carb and exhaust on”, I’m goin to show it off in my video I’m in the process of recording about building a saw hybrid. It’s comical how bad it is but from someone that is supposed to be one of “THE GUYS” for saw hybrid motors. If this is the quality of work that is sold to people and the information that is being given then it’s tea not a surprise that most people think like this. Your goin to get an actual gut laugh from the work, I know I did.

I ordered a 19.5 mm clamp on Dellorto phbg clone.....Supposedly it's for both 2 & 4 strokes. It's 19.5mm only the inner lip is 19.5mm & not the entire intake tube/,runner, the intake manifold needs to be a 19.5 or 20mm ID with a 23 or 24mm OD to clamp-on to & work. It says the 262AN emulsion tube with holes in it will work for both 2 & 4 strokes & so most come with a AN style tube. Apparently the holes in the tube allow for more airiation & better mix of air/fuel resulting in the need for a bigger main jet due to extra air. The 262AU emulsion tube has no holes & comes in 2 stroke only phbg carbs & won't work on a 4 stroke engine. I'm not sure if the 262AU works better for a 2 stroke than the AN tube but says the AN works for both.... I would assume that if the 262AN makes a better more misty/airiated airflow that it would work better on 2 strokes also 🆚 the AU tube.... When I took out the AN & tried to put the 2t. 262AU tube in the carb. It won't thread in unless u trim the lip down by the jet so the threads will reach up inside..... I was under the impression that both AU & AN tubes would fit right into all phbg models & read the 2 different emulsion tubes are the only difference between 2 & 4 stroke carbs.... I'm really hoping the 19.5mm Dellorto phbg AS clamp-on carb isn't a 4 stroke only carb. Made with different internal carb body holes & routings. ....The Dellorto phbg 2 stroke carbs look identical. Some are hose- non clamp-on & some are clamp-on style like a stock engine carb.. That can be fitted on with either a OD hose or clamp-on to metal intake tube. A 23mm OD G2 reed tube should work. For the 19.5mm phbg AS if carb can work on both 2 & 4 strokes. If anyone reads this novel & knows about the phbg models please let me know. Others have said the PHBG clones work good.... It has 3 jets instead of 1 so I assume a well turned phbg carb woukd have good idle & good low-mid-high range power. I just hope mine isn't a 4 stroke only phbg.

I don't want all the parts or extra cost to the set they do have. Just look in the parts pages see all out of stock part. Or maybe a part that you may need for the bullet train, 2 stroke engin kit. Much of that engine is proprietary to bike berry. The only place to get the parts would be bikeberry. A couple parts in there g4 transmission are sized different than others on ebay or amazon.

CDH is garbage. Cheapest shit they can source, and poor customer service. Just like Bikeberry. Next time make a spacer. Stacking base gaskets is NOT a good fix as they crush over time and your squish will change. I do this with new GoMax LD100 engines to correct port timing. It unshrouds transfers and makes a BIG difference in power, even with stock porting. I have some timing corrected engines on my channel if you wanna check them out
