Great powerplant! I would personally like to see this setup on a hardtail so a triangle battery or at least a 20-25ah 52v version could be used.

This bike with the Photon and a 52V 10Ah battery would be perfect. Have you had luck with ISCG tabs using a Photon motor? I'm assuming at least one of the tabs would need to be ground down. Love these builds!

A compelling bike for sure and because I am a speed lover as many of your subscribers are, I would consider building one with one exception. Biggest problem with a dual suspension bike, even one size Large and I prefer an XL frame size because I am tallish, is as mentioned, room for a decent battery capacity. 9 amp-hr's just isn't enough for my preference. I like 20-20 amp-hr with a hungry motor size. Having 72v means more cells in series which eats up room in the battery enclosure for parallel cells which provides battery capacity and more range on the bike per single charge. There maybe a dual suspension frame out there that will fit both a big voltage and higher amp-hr battery but most triangles with dual suspension bikes today are very compact for stiffness for structure for the rear shock. This is most of the reason I haven't built a 72v dual suspension bike as much fun as it would be. That thing must be amazing to ride. Thanks Johnny. Awesome build.

Check out the Dimondback Yowie. I has a good triangle and the shock is tucked out of the way.

Personally I do not want something that does wheelies. What is more important to me is range, climbing and not overheating. I like to smell the roses when I ride. I know some others are more worried about top speed …

My T8 is a cloud on rocky downhills. The suspension encourages you to ride harder than the brakes can handle in stock form. With that added weight you'd have to really watch out for brake fade.

Supercool! I want to convert my Commencal Meta Trail from 2022 to an ebike. Not sure yet if to go for X1 Pro or Photon... or which battery would fit... any tips?
@JohnnyNerdOut13 күн бұрын
If you have an unusual bottom bracket, you may need the flexibility of the x1. It is a bit louder than the photon though

Beyond a sweet build. A rear rack? I'd add a front rack, and carry dumbells to avoid unplanned wheelies.😂

I have a specialized enduro that's 20 years old, but I have completely restored it to new and converted it to a 1x10. Do you think it could handle something like this?
does it have the stock rear hub still on ? i m getting the same build( same gear ratio etc ) but after digging into the nitty gritty , a pretty serious upgrade is needed rear hub.. 4 piston brakes ,sturdier rims spokes etc

I built a 2016 Trek Fuel full suspension with BBSHD and 52 V 20AH batt in the triangle. Two gripes. BBSHD hangs lower than 52 tooth chain ring and 29 inch wheels are not as rigid as smaller wheels. Can feel some flex when letting off throttle at high speed in high gear. Makes me nervous. Anyone know of a modern dual suspension bike with large triangle?

Love your work but over powered bikes are screwing things up for all of us with regular ebikes. Getting everyone banned from public areas.

The bike looks great but the ugly battery and mounting looks ghetto and ugly. It would be nice with all your experience if you could work on the looks a little more. Also you were going to weigh it but left that out. bummer.

The problem is that 100% of folks owning something like this don't dial it back legally and yes, they are ruining it for everyone. Automobiles have proven we cannot be trusted to do the right thing, or obey the law at all. Those brakes, those very brakes, were not even designed to stop that bike stock! They are for a

I would never want an old maid like yourself to ruin it for enthusiasts. You sir are unamerican. A woke, beta male who wants to control other people. Alfa's will never let betas control them...ever. I am both an automotive engineer and have worked with NHSTA throughout a long career. I grew up building racing cars and motorcycles. You...should only speak for 'yourself'. No, 'you' should never ride this ebike. It is way above your talent level. But for a guy like me who has raced motorcycles both on and off road, this bike would be a 'piece of cake' to ride. Why? Because I could control the power. I own a 2000w, 45 lb, drop bar road bike that will do 40mph with 'rim brakes'. I ride it on many days I am not riding something else either faster or slower. 10's of thousands of miles. It rides perfectly and perfectly safe with 28c tires 'in the right hands.' So speak among your liberal, beta peers who have no talent to ride high power machines. Don't bring your sniveling here.

@@jakeyoung2092this thing isn't much different than a surron for all intents and purposes. Except it has more power on a frame that wasn't built for it.
