The truck: Born from a combination of an '86 2wd from California and an '83 4wd from here in BC the Yeti made his debut in March 2018. He had been semi built by a friend of a friend of mine 5 years prior and sat most of the year only being driven a few times each summer. Before Stacey and I were dating, (I was totally courting her) I took her down to look at the truck with me (she's cool like that). We test drove it, and I new I wanted it, and she knew I was going to buy it. I said to her "this thing is like a sasquatch" and she said "nah, it's more like a Yeti." And so it was from that day forward. Since then he's had some significant upgrades in looks and performance. November 2020 he was rolled in an offroading accident and the cab was replaced with another '86 2wd cab (the blue one).
The Specs
2wd to 4wd conversion
22re with 4 speed
Dual transfer cases with twin sticks
Custom front bumper from Westcan Offroad Design
Custom rock sliders from Fabsall

Custom thick wall driveshafts from Western Driveline
TG rear bumper
OTT Hi Steer with FJ80 "555" tie rod ends and ARP knuckle studs
Big brake upgrade/braided brake lines
37x12.5x15 Interco TrXus tires
Currently on 15x10 Daytona Steelies painted bronze
Mint interior with custom center console and wicked stereo set-up

Love the progress! Be sure about your decision with running the fuel pump in-line . Most are designed to be pushing fuel and not pulling. They can also run hot when not submersed, and have a short life as a result. My 87 4Runner to my knowledge has the original in the tank with 318K on it. My 02 Ford E350 off road van has 215K on its in tank pump. If you make an access hatch above the tank you can get to the pump and sending unit very easily without dropping the tank.

I very much agree. External fuel pumps can be issues like you mentioned. I kinda cringed when they did it. Hopefully it all works out smooth. Love the commitment and the build though.
@ToyotaWorldRunners

Valid points about the fuel pump. I've had 2 Toyota in tank pumps leave me stranded with no spare. Since then I've always ran in-line pumps and carry a spare. We'll have a spare with us in the Chinook. Also, I wouldn't want an access hatch through our 2" finished floor, also also I don't know for sure, but I think there's a lot more generic in-line pumps in South America then there are 92 suburban ones 😅 Always appreciate others experience and perspectives. Thank you for watching and commenting Michael!

Just stumbled across this video and channel on my feed. The opening words of your video really resonated with me. Living alone in Alaska the past 5 years, building a dream… Sometimes I forget to remember what it felt like to take that giant leap, and how thins were in my first year here. Sometimes we’ve come a lot further than we give ourselves credit for without even noticing. Great job on your video and on your build! Those opening words really warmed my heart.

The build just gets more impressive with each video. You guys are building a beast and your willingness and ability to dive into the unknown is inspiring. You each are adding you own feel to the build. The summer between my Jr and Sr year of high school, I worked in a metal shop. Beautiful build. New here. I have a lifted 99 crv, overlanding. Of course like any new project, I threw a bunch of stuff together hoping it'll work. Only it did work but not really. I am redoing the lift and suspension. Pretty much everything to make it safe for myself and my service dog. I wanted to jump on the road quick but then I starting thinking about safety and doing things the right way. Even though it'll take longer. In the end the wait will be worth it. God bless

So rad guys! Only thing I might would add to the crossmember is some bolt protection to the center mount. I had issues with them backing out even with red locktite.
