Thank you sooooo much for sharing this. I have been wanting to do this for awhile. I had a successful conversion 1 time with Canva + Word and that was it. This appears to be a more solid way to do it.

Awesome tutorial thank you! I've tried other methods but couldn't get them to work properly but yours worked perfect! Just one thing, I tried uploading it from the tool bar on the left side of the screen but it didn't load into my uploads but later found the images on my home page

I have pro version .. I done this same image - downloaded SVG > transparent.. Uploaded to Figma chose the vector image on left > added my image then hit export > PDF > export vector and it didn't move past downloaded 0/2?? What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for asking. You can definitely use your own image. I drew something in procreate and did the same process and it worked.

hi i couldnt get this to work :( at the vector part it wasnt selecting my image even though it was a .SVG please help :)

I don't know what I'm going wrong but it didn't work for me. Figma won't allow me to export it as a PDF or vector. It doesn't appear on the screen. I then went to express adobe just this one time to convert the png into a pdf and it didn't work at all. When I took it back to canva and hit delete the image, it really deleted the whole thing. I wasn't left with a frame like yours.

It should not matter. What type of shape were you using and was it from Canva or another source.
