lol I'm very much still learning as I go, no where near absolute pro! Thanks for watching! Btw, I have a series (well only 2 videos for now) of short tutorials, do check them out :D

This is freaking amazing man, no idea how you did it but this is a masterpiece. Love how you are not just showing the good side but the fact that pro builders like you can make mistakes, and how to fix them. Also, love the variety of tools you displayed. One question tho, how do you come up with these panel line ideas & ensure the patterns are identical on both legs?

Thank you so much 😀 Yeah, it's full of mistakes and part of the learning curve is to mitigate and fix them. Also, definitely don't think I'm a pro, my work is very far from clean but someday I might reach that clean level of finish. For the design, I usually just do various rough sketches (like in the video), rub off design that doesn't work and sketch again. I repeat until I get a design that I like. As for duplicating the lines, I use a compass tool (not shown on video) to measure the distance from the edge, width and height of the design then mark it on the other leg. I might do another short tutorial on this. But admittedly, I'm not perfect when it comes to duplicating design but it's not very noticeable when it's not placed side by side lol.

thanks man, I’m still relatively new to the customising panel lines & probably need more advices to improve. Watching your videos has helped me a lot!! In the future, can I shoot you a dm on insta if I need some help with scribing?

What grid of sanding do you use after scribbling?
@GunplaNewbie4 жыл бұрын
Hmm I don't work with sandpaper with numbered grits. I'm using 3m sanding sponges so I only have fine, super fine and ultra fine. I often use ultra fine 🙂

While I don't usually count the number of passes but I kinda just estimate visually. If it's bare plastic, I usually apply some water-based acrylics to see if they're deep enough and it's also good to spot mistakes (like unfinished lines etc). Once you've painted the parts, you can check the lines to see if they're deep enough. If they're too shallow, usually the primer itself would sorta cover them. At that point, you can scribe the lines a few more times. 👍 Thank you for watching btw !
