Excellent tutorial. Not many videos on the larger installations. The aluminum bracket was an excellent idea because of the overhang. So many good details without a lot of blather! The explanation of your idea of the failure of the other motor was awesome. Not criticizing but it might be helpful for others....what sealant did you use? Did you end up painting the aluminum bracket? And what did you use for a backing under the deck? Note to others, the plug he used is rated for 60 amps, the 112lb 36volt motor 52 amps max..is adequate for his application An 80lb 24volt system runs at 58 amps max...I bumped up to the 70 amp plug

Excellent video. Best minn kota install yet. I've watched some of your other videos concerning LiFePo batteries and very informative. I just ordered two 24v100ah batteries for my trolling motor and on12v100ah for a house battery. Would you recommend running the two 24v batteries in parallel for the trolling motor(24v minn kota 80lb,72in) or just run one at a time and keep the other as backup. I think I heard running in parallel isn't advised. Seems like they should be fine doing so, but you have a lot of experience.
@SaltyStrikes Жыл бұрын
One 24v 100 battery should be plenty for that trolling motor. If you do run them in parallel check manufacturer specifications. I run two Li Time 24v 200 batteries in parallel in our RV too our Victron Inverter. Remember if your use a lithium for your house battery and want to charge it from the motor you’ll need a DC to DC lithium charger.
