I found your video because just after noon while driving today, we picked up some metal rod at road construction that punctured our tire, spun around, and broke our fender flare, tail light, and rear passenger door handle while also taking chunks out of the fiberglass hard top and side of the tub. The steel back bumper only suffered a scratch. While retrieving the fender flare and piece that caused the damage in the first place, I noticed a spring. I put it in my pocket just in case I needed that spring. Thankfully the bar that you say is also required is still inside the door. The handle is still in place. Just the thumb button, which I found several feet from everything else, and spring was thrown off. So yay....unintentional upgrade. So thank you for showing how easy it is to replace!

These will b great especially with small kids who have a hard time pushing the button in on the old handles & with having a bunch of stuff in your hands thx 🙏 for sharing had no idea these existed till now , just hope they hold up with like snow & ice in the winter guess I’ll see

Great video...a little dap of grease on your socket should hold the nut in place when pulling it out. Used a lot in the marine industry

I installed a set of these today. The most difficult part is removing the window hand crank. Get yourself a hand crank removal tool or have a set of mini picks. Also have a magnet for safely pulling the nut out of the door. These handles are fantastic.

Those two rubber gromets in the tailgate are where the bolts are. It was on my 2012 JK.

Just got my first jeep 3 weeks ago and the top problem I have is the handle buttons hurting my thumbs, so I went looking for a resolution and found your video. Now I think I can do that myself!

Pro tip. Dropping the nut or bolt inside on a project like this is a nightmare. But there is a simple way to keep your 15 minute install from becoming an all day nightmare. Put something sticky in the socket. It can be vaseline, double sided tape, the diaper rash cream you keep around for the baby, even toothpaste would probably work. Also, way to blow past drilling your hole in the wrong place.

The hand crank removal is a pain. Get yourself a removal tool.

Your video inspired me to add the handles to my 2014 JKU. I experienced the same issue as you did on the rear drivers side door needing an extra tug to open. I was able to make it operate the same as the other doors by adding a tab clip over the contact piece of the latch. The clip was a leftover from the bottom of the JK's old grill. It can be seen on my Amazon review once approved. I also drilled 2 holes on my first attempt as well!

Good day AdventureDex, I purchased these and threw them on my JKUR Recon. First off the installation was easy and they all work just fine, but all the handles have about 1/4 - 1/2" gap in them when the doors are closed. And the rattle and make noise when driving. Did you ever have any issues like this? I mean it's an easy fix, I just need to purchase some stronger and slightly longer springs so the handles close tightly as they should..... Let me know if you ever experienced this issue? Thanks, Dan in Japan!

I put these on a few months ago and i have been loving them so far. The only issue I had was needing to stretch my stock springs a little but otherwise, this is a great mod!

Pretty cool they’re doing this same with the tail lights too Personally I like the jk handles especially if they get ripped off or break off road you can always just push the button Not a fan of the taillights though I guess people are breaking them all the time because the wrap around the quarter panel

Thanks for the video! The biggest reason I purchased these door handles is that I have arthritis and the most painful area is in my thumb joints. I dreaded opening up the doors on my 2016 Wrangler Unlimited because obviously it has a thumb button to open the doors that requires a bit of force to push the button. These door handles are a godsend and make opening the doors a breeze. I'm not sure why they don't have an ADA Compliant label on them. I highly recommend these handles for those of you who struggle with joint pain issues.
