My gut feeling is that Jeep will be coming out with a factory option similar to this in the near future. Jeep has already responded to the impact the Bronco has made on the market, and a much better infotainment center is a no-brainer!

@@robertallen6710 I hope you are correct, but, from what I'm seeing Jeep may stay true to what they have always done.....and done well. Jeep still has an edge over the Bronco strictly offroad. But the Bronco certainly is a better allrounder. I hope Jeep upgrades a few things, but my gut is starting to tell me that they might just do minor things to not upset their very well-established fan base.

@@sixone2256 I got a 2022 Ford F150 and Ford keeps everything updated. I've had the truck about a year now and I've received at least 10 updates. Everything runs great and although I really want another Jeep, they seem to be falling far behind everyone else right now.

Neat idea. Nothing I'm in to. Its most likely not water resistant, in a vehicle where the roof comes off, not a good idea. I've been caught in the rain twice with the roof off in my JL. And everything still works as it should. Nice vid, thanks for sharing.

Just ordered this last week. Hoping it comes in soon. Did you have any compatibility issues with the factory infotainment system? Some systems require serial number integration to make the new system compatible.... usually done through the dealer. Did you run into that at all or was it true plug and play? Thanks!

Not sure if you have done this or not, but that JLU needs a spring leveling kit. That heavy bumper makes it dip way down and if you fix it the front end won’t feel so heavy while driving especially during turns.

Great video. I'm moving from a Scat Pack Charger to a Rubicon this weekend and only wished you would have been a little more specific about the wire placement.. The software is disappointing the hardware is dope. K1 has better software. Hopefully Carobotor JL dash is better

Seemed like an easy install compared to some screens but not looking for yet one more computer to comlicate my life!. Additionally, if the jeep is under warranty i wonder if u have a AC / heat issue if they will break chops as jeeps controls are eliminated

Dex, have you seen the CaRobotor J Max for the Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators? It is really impressive and your viewers would love to see you put one in. Oracle has some impressive tail lights and bumper mounted lights too. How about it? PS: I am still loving the J Pro and the K1 I installed in my 2011 Call Of Duty Black Ops Rubicon.

I wonder if this unit is as weather-resistant as the stock unit... I drove mine in rain and snow with no door or roof and there was no damage to the stock head unit.. I wonder if this unit is waterproof

Final product does look stock, but it also just looks like a big screen for the sake of being a big screen. After the wow factor wears off of having a giant screen, I am unsure I'd feel that excited. Curious how well the wireless carplay works on this unit. I havent found a unit that consistently worked, and that goes from aftermarket to OEM. I just revert to plug in for the consistency.

Thanks for saying this. Been so disappointed with the wireless CarPlay on my wife’s VW TRoc I honestly just thought it’s a glitch with the particular car in question. It swaps between paired devices without provocation and even if there’s just the one paired device it will disconnect for no reason at all.

AdventureDex, did you lose any functionality of the original Jeep hardware? We have a 4Xe model and have a lot of hybrid pages/apps on the factory Uconnect setup that I wouldn't want to lose.

For example, I have a rubicon, and I'd like to see the offroad pages or even Sirius. Great review of this product, though, but I just really need to see how apples compare to apples scenario.

R U going to put bigger tires on your JLU? I was thinking of 37"s but with those gas prices 35"s might be a better idea. Canadian Tire has 12,000 LBS. Warn winches with a wireless handset control on sale once in a while for a good price. They're a little sneaky advertising them by putting the ad. in with other winches usually at the bottom of ad. I love my new JLU-R. My JKU-S was ok but the JLU-R is totally awesome. The factory really upgraded everything almost. L8R Dude!

Cars today have so many gadgets and doohickeys that the driver can be overwhelmed. I have a five-year-old Mazda CX-5 and I still don't know how to use some of the devices it contains. And, of course, the more gadgets, the greater the likelihood some will cease functioning and require repair or replacement. My GPS, for example, provides out-of-date on speed limits and road closures. And my heated seats stopped functioning two years ago. I am making do without the luxury of having my butt hot while driving.
