A 40-foot container *would not fit sideways* -- count the studs. Also in-universe it would require a crane that can rotate cargo 90 degrees and I want to use a normal container gantry to unload the big ships per the worldwide standard.

Jang, you should make some foam on the water arround the boats and on the shore, it would look really cool and break the monotony of those blue base plates. Amazing moc as allways btw!

for the 20-foot sea containers, couldn't you just put on 40-foot one sideways?
@JANGBRiCKS7 жыл бұрын
That would require a crane to be able to rotate cargo 90 degrees and I want to use a standard-style container gantry to unload the big ships. Edit: *Plus as others have since noted, they won't fit sideways in the hull at all.*
@djstoplichtofficial7 жыл бұрын
Besides, the 40 foot container is 2 studs too long sideways, you can see that the 20 foot ones are 6x8 studs, and the 40 foot ones are 6x16, but the hull is only 14 studs wide ;-) Cool ship overall, very nice interior!

Frankly, I'm amazed you were able to do so much with the one piece hull. It does kind of put a constraint on things. Years ago, I had a fireboat, that really floated, thanks to some crazy weighted pontoon pieces. There was a cargo ship too, I think. The point is, those boats were arranged in a very modular fashion (bow piece, regular hull piece, stern piece.) If you could find multiple sets of those though, you could stretch them out as long as you want. Regardless, fantastic work. :]

would be cool if you could make a oil drilling platform where the hose is actually going underneath your tables. Those kind of structures are nice to have with the boats whom support them. aswell as a heli platform on it. Also your container carrier needs to be guided in the harbour by a tug

I have been wanting to do containers for a while now and eventually add some container ships but I was unsure what size specifically to go with. I'm very interested in those corrugated panel pieces since they resemble regular sea can walls and really like the way to used them but did not stick to just them for the containers. I'll likely use your container design in my city and if I can manage to get my hands on two or more of that hull I'll probably copy the container load area of your ship since you basically did it perfectly.
