This is fantastic, Greg! I've been using selective burning/dodging with your luminosity masks ever since purchase and it's dramatically cut down my processing times and rewarded me with a much better image. Happy to see that you're still developing with useful features like this. Looking forward to putting these new features to work. Have a great week!

Wow! One of my goals for this year is to master luminosity masks with Lumenzia. There's so much to learn.

Your tutorials are very informative and I am learning a lot about applying Lumenzia to my workflow. Is there an advantage to using color for dodging and burning rather than white and black? I'm looking forward to viewing your tutorials in the future. Thanks for your great work!
@gregbenzphotography Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, you can change or correct color while dodging and burning

Thanks Greg , very awesome and I applaud you for continuing to add functionality to this tool for us licensed users. Very basic / somewhat PS noob question: how did you pick the foreground / background colors for the dodge burn layer? I've had times using the prior D/B tool where it came up automagically with colored F/B swatches rather than black and white and I wasn't sure how that happened.
@gregbenzphotography Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I’m setting the paint for you in my software while you have the orange previews active. In the past, you probably had a layer mask active (which only allows greyscale paint), and then the normal color paint would have shown when you were no longer targeting a mask.

@@gregbenzphotography Greg , thanks. I'd like to come back to this question as maybe I'm not wording it clearly. When your video starts you have a light warm foreground and a bright green background swatch loaded. If I bring a RAW from LR into PS and follow your dodge sequence exactly, I still have default black / white foreground / background. My dodging is white without color. Did you manually set those foreground / background colors or is there an option that allows the orange preview to automatically select appropriate dodge / burn color swatches?
@gregbenzphotography Жыл бұрын
@JeffreyJDavis yes, I had manually picked those colors before I started the video.

What an incredible tool for improving photos. Watching all your videos currently. I don't think you have covered 'mid tone lights' specifically. If you have any cool use cases please consider a video :)

Just use the “?“ button, and see the written manual via the flyout menu at top-right of the panel.

Greg how do you select the colour to paint with? Do you use the eye dropper on the colour then adjust it to a brighter and more saturated or do u just select it manually using your eyes?
@gregbenzphotography Жыл бұрын
Combination of the two typically , often I pick the hue and then tweak saturation and brightness when dodging and burning.

Great update Greg, this is going to be very helpful. The video is also a great followup to your recent Dodge/Burn lesson on Nic's Nature Photography Classes, which was excellent. Thank you.

Greg do you have any KZbin videos that dive into properly preparing files in LR for luminosity masking in PSHP? Do you need to have your midtones in chosen exposures at similar brightness before export as some others seem to suggest doing for a better blend? Is it best to choose exposures no more than 1EV apart etc....
@gregbenzphotography Жыл бұрын
I cover several examples and those sorts of detail in my exposure blending course. gregbenzphotography.com/exposure-blending-master-course

The vertical slider (1~7) for D/M/L has become extremely laggy and unresponsive ever since 11.7.0. I'm on an 2020 Intel iMac, latest macOS and Photoshop. Could you please take a look at this problem?

Please email me to troubleshoot. That code hasn’t changed recently.

@@gregbenzphotography Thanks. I think I'll stick to 11.6.6 for now. I forgot to mention that D + curve always generates an extra anchor point (in 4 out 4). Will email you when I finish my trip.

@onepackstudio that’s on purpose, see the dark curve info in the written manual
