I love the Hollis! That split exhaust on the 350 single really talks! The whole bike displays the fruits of untold hours of methodical thought. Simply a masterpiece. Thanks so much for taking the time to bring this ingenious motorcycle to us. As for the designer, Well done you!

Fantastic! The best of both worlds. Classic looks and reliable technology. I’d love to own one of these one day… but with EFI 😁. Great interview Dave
@cleophusA

Why ad the complication? A well set up carburetor will give you thousands of miles of carefree motoring with only minor maintenance. With EFI you're adding significant complexity and greater cost. I would hazard to say that thisaccessible. This Hollis fills the bill. I wonder, does the Company plan to expand into America? Or, barring that, will they ship?
@cleophusA
@cleophusA 2 жыл бұрын
It seems that a sentence was removed from the above comment. I meant to make the point that simplicity and ease of maintenance is what makes a great motorcycle, and this Hollis has that in spades! I would hazard to guess that this bike has less than 12 wires and 4 circuits in the whole electrical system and wiring loom! I love a motorcycle that has everything "on show" and easily accessible. It makes for a really enjoyable road bike and is a real blessing if you find yourself having to hunt down a problem on the side of the road!

@@cleophusA very simple. I will illustrate the issue with an analogy. I am old enough to have had to get my music from analog records. At the time it was all we knew and there was a whole ritual about getting, owning and scratching them too. Today I have a spotiffy account. I can’t see a single reason why when given the choice I would pick an LP over my digital playlists. There is no perceptible technical advantage of analog music over digital, apart from how the listening experience is affected by nostalgia. Back to motorcycles :-). Same applies to carbs against EFI, at least from my POV, having owned both types of bikes.

@@rodintoulouse3054 Was in the HiFi Industry for 35 years and never bought a CD player. I use Spotify Premium for back ground music. Vinyl is my goto for sitting down and listening. My 50 year old LP's are fine. Well looked after just like the Carbs on my bikes.

@@carmenandthedevil2804 as i said: nostalgia over performance. I am not saying you are wrong. You just get your kicks out of old less efficient technologies because that is what you value. My sin is that I love wearing analog watches that only tell the time :-)

Nicely made...looks highly incomplete on the ass end, presumably to pander to the fad of grinding off the rear end of perfectly good motorcycles...In any case, Props to him for making his bike happen. Congrats to all who own and ride one.

I am sure I once read that Vincent bikes preferred girder folks because they considered them better than telescopic, they were more stable and didn't bounce around so much on the road. mono at the bike girder on the front and an engine 30 years in ahead of anyone else

Beautiful motorcycles, no superbikes but beautiful motorcycles to enjoy the environment. Too bad motorcycle manufacturers don't make these kinds of things, they prefer to sell expensive superbikes, which you can't ride well on all kinds of back roads and at the end of the day have a sore back and wrists and have to pay a lot of money for a service.

It's a hand made motorcycle and made by the designer. You are comparing it with the prices of motorcycles that are mass produces in the thousands. Zero Eng in the USA did something very similar about 10 years ago using a HD Evo engine and those were £19K back then. You are paying for everything including the R&D over a very small volume production so you shouldn't moan about the price. The guy has to make a living...
