I, like some of the other commenters, would put leveling jacks at the rear for the really big logs for sure! I would also carry along an old moving blanket or something similar to lay over the winch cable when pulling up a log to keep a breaking cable from whipping around and injuring someone. The coil over shocks are a great addition to your design. Thanks for the video!

This is too cool. I like your's with the shocks. I've seen a couple and wondered about it slamming into the deck when tipped towards the truck. And the stops on the other side are a nice feature. Such a simple but great design, nice.

Awesome log arch trailer design. The only thing I would add is leveling Jacks under each side of the log arch pivot points. Then I believe you'll be 100% golden. Great video and best wishes.

I'm building 1 at this time Every arch I see has 1 big flaw That's trying to lose the log when you want. I am putting a hand winch on the arch with a block on the top so I can raise our lower the log at any point in the arch position.

I thought about that too. I have made an arch that can be fixed in many different upright positions. The electric winch can be then disconnected from the arch and using a snatch block to raise up the log to slacken or remove the chain. I just uploaded a video of my new log arch trailer a few days ago.

Neat. I like it and it looks practical.

Like the video and hate the loud music. I noticed that you still assist the arch when coming down. Any chance that a stiffer spring would help?
