@@magcentric44 What was all of that? If it’s too insane to explain, that’s understandable…I’m just really curious. It reminded me of the time I tried helping my brother in law on a 1981 Dodge Ram D250. I tried talking him out of literally wasting thousands of dollars and 1.5 years of my life into making it run. He refused. It was the worst vehicle I’ve ever worked on. The plus side is he now knows how to do minor troubleshooting and repairs, so I guess it wasn’t all a loss.

Often these weird hacky wiring bypasses are done by clueless owners (and clueless mechanics) to fix simple problems. I bet you could take the bypasses off one-by-one, while looking at the wiring diagram, and figure out why they did it. Then repair the root of the problem. I've fixed a couple old Saabs done up like this and they are always easier than they first look.

The 18 year old with the wheel bearing, or what's left of one: I saw the same thing on my friend's 1962 Chevy Corvair. One of the rear axles had a destroyed bearing, and the axle would slide outward on turns, and the brakes wouldn't work. Really scary to drive. I fixed it for him.
@RUSTYCHEVYTRUCK2 жыл бұрын
To anyone who’s wheel bearing is that bad and you don’t have a lot of money, you’re better off getting an el cheapo Chinese one then continue on that. They won’t last but at least your wheel won’t fall off without squealing for a while

We had a 2002 Ford Explorer come in. The thing had 274k original miles. Pulling it into the bay, it almost stalled idling in gear and was misfiring badly. And after a rather simple inspection, I found it needed a new air filter, ball joints, tie rods, parking brake lines, tires, brake pads/rotors, and a new steering rack. It was also leaking from everywhere that could leak and there was some chronic rust. It was so bad I went and talked to the service advisor and we deemed it unsafe to drive so the owner had to release the car with a signature. They apparently had inherited it from his late father and he felt something wasn’t quite right about it when he brought it in. He ended up getting rid of it and buying something else.

As the son of a 31year mechanic, I’m amazed one of those exploders lasted to 274k, the late 90s to mid 2000s ones have the nickname exploders for a reason

It seems people just don’t want to take care of their vehicles. My folks’ era (the World War 2 generation) had vehicles and kept them a number of years - because they took the time to take care of them . My Dad taught me and my brothers to do the proper maintenance and the vehicle will serve you well. His folks bought a ‘50 Buick Riviera in the fall of’49. With proper maintenance it lasted until they traded it in on a ‘69 Wildcat. They didn’t drift or road race (yeah, I know, different generation, but proper care is proper care no matter the era).

A good used car might be cheaper. 4:26 "This customer prefers to do his own fleet oil changes." Translation: He hasn't been doing any oil changes. @ 3:12 That's most likely a 99/00 Ford Lightning that never had the intercooler recall done. OEM intercooler ruptured letting the engine suck all the coolant from the IC system through the engine. Well known issue with an easy fix, but if left alone it can and will ruin an engine.

How did the wife get the desiel nozzle in the gas filler neck. good video 👍👍
@Doing_it_right_the_first_time2 жыл бұрын
That’s what I was thinking because on a diesel station pump the nozzle is larger than a gas nozzle or the receptacle in the vehicle so it makes it very difficult to do that; it’s supposed to alert you that something is not right when it doesn’t go in…some people are just dumb as a box of rocks as they will find a way to do it anyways!
@briancooper49592 жыл бұрын
I'll bet my socks that she was already angry at having to put gas in it to start with. That the nozzle didn't fit only enraged her more. Once mad, many women lose all sense of logic, and will do the most amazing insanity. Oh, and it's a sure bet that she blamed the husband for this happening.
