I bought two V6 vacuums in December 2017, one of them was the simple hand vac version with no wand or powerhead, just a mini electric brush for upholstery and the 2 standard nozzles,. The other V6 was the Absolute model with the 50W floor powerhead and all the other attachments you get with the top of line model. Despite only very light usage and occasionally using Max mode, the Absolute suffered battery failure after about 4 years, with the first signs of problems apparent after just 3 years when Max mode would not run for longer than about 30 seconds before dying. Using it in low mode it would run for longer though. But after about 4 years, even on low mode, it would only run for 20 seconds before the low battery ring light around the max button started flashing and then another 20 seconds after that till the motor stopped. The machine did not go through anywhere near 500 charge cycles , I'd say maybe only about 100 as it was not used as a main vacuum. I'd say one of the cells became faulty rendering the entire battery pack useless. The other model is still working fine in low mode, even despite it being into its 7th year now - I use that as a kitchen vac that vacuums up crumbs off the counters and light duties, so it never got used on Max at all. When new, the stats on these V6 machines were 20 minutes run time on low with no powerhead attached and 6 minutes on Max. With the powerhead attached run time would lower to 16 minutes on low, and about 5 minutes on Max. So your machine at 12 minutes on Low with the powerhead is not doing too bad - thats about 75% of the new rated value for run time. I'd say its probably not the original battery, and maybe has a couple of years left in it - but use it on low mode, Max mode kills the battery in more ways than one - it lowers run time, and due to making the battery get hot, it degrades the cells so reducing the number of charge cycles the battery will be good for. These batteries do not like massive 20 amp power draws for extended periods - that amount of current is what makes them get hot, and causes the damage.

I have a V8 that is about to be 5 years old, and I got about 15 minutes of cleaning done. That would probably be a later V6, since it has the better motor head. The earlier V6 had the nozzle similar to your dc35.

I had a DC35 digital slim Multi Floor I got 2nd hand and it would die after a couple minutes on normal mode. Found a larger capacity battery on Amazon for $40. I buy a lot of new aftermarket parts from Amazon. I bought my V7 Motörhead Origin in November 2019 and by that point the V7 had been out 3 years (V7 released in 2017 I believe) not sure when Dyson stopped making the V6

I used to own a Dyson V6 Absolute and that was manufactured on the 9th of February 2015. Making my one just over 9 years old. (UK machine) The V6 is supposed to have 20 minutes on LOW mode and 6 minutes on MAX mode
