This is a tennis channel. And the video is about a tennis racquet customization. Why try so hard to squeeze in pickleball padel 🤷♂️

I'm so sick of tennis outlets talking about pickleball.

That video is interesting, they add 1.4 gramm at 60cm according to the second weight measurement. That should add 3.5 swingweight points and 0.2 twistweight points. But they remeasure 2 sw and 0.4 tw gain. Maybe my math is wrong?

when you put on the lead tape for eg like at 9 o'clock , do you put it on both sides of the string holes or just on one side
@nitrooo1233 ай бұрын
always on both sides of the grommets to keep the racket as balanced as possible
@wildflower75743 ай бұрын
Yes this is needed at every retail outlet. Quality control is at a all time low with crazy fluctuations in swingweight and static weight.
@qk1s3 ай бұрын
Isn't Sinner playing with 340 SW? The specs they are customizing this racket to is a bit too low. It would be much harder to get higher SW while maintaining same balance point and static weight
@michaelp90613 ай бұрын
I understand here he is trying to use an off the shelf racquet to match But Sinner does not use this version of speed.
@michaelp90613 ай бұрын
They are Two completely different racquets
@enematwatson13573 ай бұрын
You don't expect the official Head representative to be fully transparent about it, do you? 😁
@jerome_morrow3 ай бұрын
Well, at least Sinner does use a Speed. Djoker on the other hand… nice PJ! 😆
@michaelp90613 ай бұрын
You are right. Djokovic never touched a speed.
@kobybonta89493 ай бұрын
True but you could get the version he does use and spec match. Still really cool.
@leftyspinn3 ай бұрын
Sinner uses an old speed with shared holes. Not the current model with some lead

I don’t really understand the obsession with secrecy of professionals racquets specs. Manufactures treat consumers like little babies who can’t understand that pros use different racquets that we can buy. It’s like they want to deny a simple fact that most people already know

pickleball?? please edit that out next time.

It is is very hard to customise for Static weight, swingweight, Balance Point and Twist weight. Which is why they also did not do it in this video. Twistweight was just measured at the end, but not further corrected to a specific spec. Without preselecting a couple of racquets that are coming in quite identical in specs from manufacturing, getting all 4 Specs identical is not really possible. This is why the pros do get their frames manufactured not in the china factory were our racquets come from. Would be hell off a lot of work to prescreen off the shelf racquets, that show just to mention static weight ranges of +-7 g. To provide like like 30 identical frames to Sinner for maybee hardcourt season they would have very much fun working with mass production frames.

This is not universally true. Head pro stocks that are a version of a retail frame, like Sinner's TGT301.4, are manufactured in China. Big difference between the retail and pro stock versions are the removal of the commercial weights. Pro stocks whose code starts with "PT," like Novak's PT113b, are manufactured in Austria.
@kogoromori51983 ай бұрын
@@padflash Thanks for the insights. I did not want to say that frames cannot be manufactured in China with good quality control; this would not be true, obviously. But Sinners frames are still a different batch than the ones meant for the public market.

There is a tuning device called Metortune which does all the measurements + has a software included which calculates the lead positions automatically for all 4 specs.
@kogoromori51983 ай бұрын
@@vscope I will have a look thanks. But there would still be situations that can't be resolved. I have seen swing weights 15 points over spec. You just cannot remove weight.... If you start with a light bare bone frame, yes I would agree you definitely could do a lot with this software.
@vscope3 ай бұрын
@@kogoromori5198 yes, you are right, not every spec can be resolved. that's why pro stock rackets are light in specs to make tuning easy. however the Metortune calculates 8 different weight positions for each racket and up to 9 rackets at once in seconds. thats a big help for me.

He is soo sloppy customizing. And silicone in the handle is the worst as you cannot remove it properly and it's very inaccurate. The lead just above the butt cap is also not the most effective way. I add some lead on the butt cap on the inside and make sure it cannot shift.
@michaelespinosa91683 ай бұрын
@@LarzB huh huh you said “butt”
@redmandyl3 ай бұрын
Swing weight is measured 10cm above the buttcap and therefore he carefully put lead tape there to gain weight and stay SW neutral
@LarzB3 ай бұрын
@@redmandyl yeah you have a very little effect on swing weight 10 cm before the measurement point, but that effect is very very little. Practically zero with the amount of lead he uses. I stuff 14 grams in the butt cap and that effect is still very low (1 point)
@LarzB3 ай бұрын
@@michaelespinosa9168 😂 how old are you? Or you didn't know this part of the racket is called butt cap?
@leftyspinn3 ай бұрын
You put cotton wool inside the handle before injecting silicone. Much easier to remove because it won't leak down too far
