Sounding like that diverter valve needs replacing, I believe. Had the same whining sound on throttle until I replaced mine.

That "stock" run is pretty on par with stock hp/tq numbers. I'm thinking it actually was stock. Stage 1 tune would put the HP around 230/40. 280/90 tq. Easy way to tell is look at the boost gauge (if it has one). Stock boost is around 10 psi, Stage 1 would be 15+ psi. Stock clutch can't hold any power if its a manual so that goes right away. Stage 2 fully bolted on with stock turbo should be around 240/50 whp and 300tq. Put a K04 in that baby; 330whp 330wtq (give or take depending on tuning and mods).

Boys, I'm rewatching this one as I've just started buying power upgrades for my '14 CC. What DV is this GTI running, and what do you recommend for nice DV noises? I had a turbo smart on my b5 Passat back in the day and I loved the sound it made.

I'm honest so I will tell you you're asking the wrong guy. We've made 500hp on stock revised DV. So there's no real need to change IMO... And when it comes to sound that's all personal preference. What I think sounds good may not be what you think sounds good. Sorry not much help here.

@@COMotorsports at first you don´t lose signals ( no distortion ) because of canbus system , you can get your rpm signal via the roller, and you can see life data. last but not least OBD dongle works great now for rpm and some data like afr, boost etc. BR

Just watched a heap of your mk6 videos, I'm from Australia have an mk6 gti with APR stage one, APR cold air intake and intake pipe, R8 coils. I'm about to install ARM intercooler pipes and catch can. Is there much else I can do or is the APR platform really limited to their fixed kits? I'm thinking IE intake manifold or flap delete and maybe cat back exhaust. Do I need to change tune brand for my half baked add ons?

stock definately 214 hp there 211 hp stock intake giving bit extra, awful figures for a stage 2, ive got 260 hp 390 nm from a stage 1, pretty sure diverter diverter is split very common after giving her some stick

I just bought a mk7 GTI and its fairly quick for a "Stock" car. The car had COBB license plates at the dealership. Is there a way to check if its been tuned without an access port?

The software was likely removed as the accessport can be used on other vehicles as long as the files pulled off.

@@Sus_blues I don't know what unitronic cable of flashing over. I know APR would have no issue flashing over, but most can't. You'd want to put the ECU back to stock.

How do you get the stage 2 for the cobb accessport ? As far as I know it only comes with preloaded stage 1 and 1+ right ? I’ve doing some researching to decide which tune up I’m gonna do, I have full aftermarket exhaust and cold air intake.

For future reference the EPA put the hammer down on Cobb so all their stage 2 stuff got scrapped. Basically any tune that requires stock cat to be changed got scrapped to protect emissions 🤢

It's typically catback that makes the biggest difference in sound. Drone isn't something that happens from changing out the downpipe.

I have downpipe cts 3" intake filter apr carbon and I want to know what you recommend for software, yes Do you sell it? I'm also interested in the price. My set up is Identical to this. The previous owner had a flash stage 1 tune and I’ll be Receiving my Cobb AP in a day or so to go stage 2. I’ll be getting a sneekytune or a German Elite Tune a few months after. What Precautions should I take so I don’t brick my ECU like you mentioned in this video?

Hey I got a question if I upgrade my springs to high rev springs and get stainless steel valves and titanium retainers I do have to upgrade anything like rods Bc of moving the rev range up or it should be fine

Rods break generally due to torque, so that all comes down to what you're setup is.

@@turntgti8674 upgraded valvetrain is totally fine for a daily. It's all about managing torque for stock rods. We don't use K04 on 1.8t's much as they're pretty lack luster and there are better options.

APR stage 1 93 MK6 puts out 236whp 300tq. Cobb does seem low with downpipe.
