I've had one for the past 10 years... they're a lot of fun. It already had Whiteline sway bars and PSS Coilovers when I bought it but understeered really badly on the track. I fitted some camber/castor plates, dialled in a little toe out and changed the sway bar settings to soft front/hard rear (they were set the opposite way) and it turns in brilliantly! It also already had the Blue Haldex unit, 3" exhaust, FMIC and EBC. I tuned it with Eurodyne and the K04 maxed out at 205 HP but that's on a Mainline dyno so very conservative compared to dynojet (actually more conservative than Mustang and DynoDynamics). I have thought about upgrading the turbo and exhaust manifold (but don't really want to do engine internals), so it will be interesting to see what you come up with.

I had an A3, the very first year model of it. Those headlights were so bad that it was terrifying to drive at night. You couldn't see anything. High beams were worse than my friend's W211 Mercedes E280's low beams, and those are already poor. The A3 had the 100hp 1.6 gasoline engine, but at least it was pretty fuel-efficient. So I ended up not drive much outside the city lights, even after replacing the bulbs with better ones... Still pretty much useless in a dark road. When I traded the A3 with a B7 A4 that had the bi-xenons, oh boy. OH BOY. Massive upgrade. Amazing headlights. Still the best headlights I've had in my own cars, so far. The A4 was otherwise a disaster (3.2 V6 constantly had something wrong), though. I do still miss those headlights.

I love that car and I really expected more hp. I have a K04 1.8T (it is on E85 and methanol injection) but based off weight and distance traveled I make 300whp and torque to match at like 28psi though. I don't have a big torque spike either, or at least not anything noticeable. I did the tuning and I doubt that number is accurate because it's never seen a dyno but I still expected more...
@COMotorsports Жыл бұрын
I doubt you'd be at 300whp, however E is magical so who knows. Typically tuned k04s here on our 91oct pump gas will make 210-230 with all the bolt ons. This one is clearly just stage 1 and stock everything.

@@COMotorsports yeah this thing has just about every thing done to it, the engine currently is stock. Once the new engine and turbo are on I may go to a dyno. For now the way I do it is close enough. I would like to see how close that number is to actual dyno numbers though.

@@keijokojootti7790 only 550s but at 4 bar they flow 660, if I remember correctly. They are basically maxed out plus spraying a bunch of methanol in it. If it wasn't for the meth the injectors would have tapped out a long time ago. Plus since I'm using meth and E85 I target .85 lamda at full load. Which is pretty lean for the amount of boost I'm putting in it so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
