Not saying it is within everybody’s budget however I think a obs 7.3 (NOT the 4door long bed) is a good first vehicle. My first truck was a 1995 ford f350 at 18, she had the 7.3 powerstroke with only 207,688 miles on er, spent 5,000 for her. Second truck I had, and still have is my 2005 dodge ram 1500, 5.7L Laramie, with 4 wheel drive, and I love it, trying to get my hands on a 2nd gen cummins pretty soon, keep yall updated!!

99-04 f250 with a 5.4 is a great buy, can swap later model parts for cheap, leaf spring lifts from procomp are cheap and ride great and with 4” lift and minor bumper trimming you can run 37s on a 20x12

My first truck was a 95 F150 with the 5.0. It was a fine truck but it had some injector issues that was too expensive for me to fix. After that I got a 04 Toyota 4Runner with the 4.7 v8. It’s amazing and I still drive it. Don’t ever plan on getting rid of it either. The motor is solid, just change the timing belt and water pump and it’ll go forever

Yeah man, I salute you. I’m 15 I own a 2015 F-150 Lariat 5.0. My grandpa bought it brand new, ever since he got that truck I knew that that was the truck that I wanted. This truck is the vehicle that made me a ford guy. I’ve also been saving forever. When it’s done it will have a 2in lift, 33” Nitto ridge grapplers, 20” black rhino wheels, custom magnaflow exhaust, and more than likely supercharged. I don’t plan on ever selling the truck. I run a very little landscape company, so it will help out with that. Next truck will be a one ton 6.7 PowerStroke though.

@@brodykoopman problem is what about insurance, gas, maintenance, ect. 5k isn't expensive, thats alone should be the minimum at which ine should have to get a car. 5k isnt being rich. My first truck was a 2004 F350 Powerstroke reg cab long bed got a great deal at 13k. My family does custom farming so I have been working and saving my money since I was 10. I bought a 2015 F350 Powerstroke again reg cab long bed I got a great deal at 31,000 and was able to pay most up front in cash. I’ve grown up with Powerstrokes and I probably would only buy them (aside from a raptor).
