I learned something the other day... When you suddenly change your flight plans and fly back earlier than originally planned, your own airline alerts the Airline transit authority and flags you. "Here's his name, here's his passport photo, here's the flight number he's going to be arriving at your airport on." Plan on getting stopped and searched by customs when you get there. I went to Japan twice, the first time, I came back earlier than originally anticipated, and customs crawled up one side of me and down the other. Questioned for about 30 minutes, and both my suitcase and carry-on searched. The second time, I came back as originally planned on my itinerary and customs didn't look twice at me.
