personnally, I've strated on long hair. I did layers. mine is naturally wavy-lightly curly, so we don't see the default :-) short straight hair cut look more difficult to me, but I'd love to have a LOB again.

I had thick hair too around your length with the initial chop on both sides being fairly satisfying and easy. but I had also fresh wet hair and I could feel my hair slowly dry and it became confusing to me if I should have had wet hair or dry lol. It was difficult for me to maintain a straight blunt cut around but decent for a free cut LOL. thanks for the video!

So if you angle it slightly with yoir fingers downward it wont be longer in the back. Pull your hair in front half and angle then it will be alot more even

Hi there. I strongly suggest you to see how the professional hairdressers from the KZbin channels like Sanja Carica Karasman, Kenneth Siu, Maksim Nikitochkin, Free Salon Education do the haircuts on customers and inspire yourself for more self-cut tutorials =) I know Aubree Kahealani does really good self-cut pixie (she has magical hands!) and Issac Yiu does his 2-block haircut (impressed for his styling and DIY-haircutting skills but not really into it though but he is a hairdresser in Hong Kong). I know MsRosieBea does great job on her armpit length hair self-cut =)

I think both of us have similar type of hair which is the kind of 'rebellious' straight hair XD I have done once before (following Aubree Kahealani's self-cut pixie) and it's a bad failure since she has softer texture hair while mine is stiffer type of typical Asian hair XD I did it because I'm sick of my bleached dyed really badly damaged hair XD But I don't really feel so depressed because I know hair grows! Just my colleagues kept wondering where the hell I got my bloody hell haircut LMAO I could possibly see most Caucasians have really fine and soft 'obedient' kind of hair so depending on their hair texture and type and also personality-wise often very short pixie works on them but definitely not for us. We need longer pixie and it's better leave it to the professional hairdressers/hairstylist like Kenneth Siu (I love his work very much because he knows Asians don't even want a low-maintenance haircut but a NO-maintenance haircut! Just like me the lazy bum XD So in his haircut style he won't 'force' his customers' hair go bloody-hell straight to cut the perfect bob but to cut as it is in the original natural state of the hair nature that the usual way of people after hairwash and air-dried their hair unless his customers ask for rebonding/permanent hair straightening service )

I've cut my own hair for about 20 years now, and really don't get why most people prefer to pay (often huge sums of money) to strangers to cut theirs! o: That's just unfathomable for me, and the same goes for any other service, like dyeing your hair. So totally recommend it! :)

@@JeanVoronkova I forgot to respond but it went pretty well. The first time I got the length I wanted but it was late so the next day I was able to clean up the last bit of uneven strands. I definitely recommend people section hair with bands 😂. I had to redo the back bc the under layer was tricky but I got it. Now hopefully my hair will grow in about the same length and won’t look wonky anymore 😊

Yes, it feels good to be capable to just kind of rely on myself. Seems like when I have gone to the pro's in my past, they hack off way too much or speak and act kind of careless. Not going to lie I have my cosmo license that I keep up, but i cut 7.5" off so that was crazy to have it all come out straight in the back haha! I have trust issues with salons lol seriously!
