I finally got me the Amalgam, had been wanting one for a couple of years, an could not be happier. The feel in the hand is like it was designed for me. First I love I love a large pocket knife, an carried the Kubey Raven an the Civivi Praxis most of the time till getting this bad boy. The carbon fiber I absolutely love, it offers such a great grip, an looks awesome. I hear some complain about the flipper tab, it takes a few minutes to adjust too. An then no worries, I love the light detent, as you can flick it open easily an when you do work like I do that is a great convenience. So thanks for your review, an thanks to Brain Lai for an awesome carry!

If you close it with your middle finder rather than first finger, the tab won’t hit your finger

Agree with the tab hitting you’re finger. I don’t understand why they would continue to design these like that with the compression lock. Same with the sliveraxe or the nub on the shaman. Great knives ..

The flipper tab is what made me decide to buy the Kapara instead. It is a cool knife though.

I own Both Amalgam and Kapara.... can't compare one to another cause they are for complete different uses. Kapara is very thin and slicy to where Amalgam is for more rugged use
