Free FIXED Written Pattern is up on my Blog for those having trouble with this tutorial. I have finally realized why so many people are having problems with this pattern after a sweet subscriber reached out to me and it has to do with how I wrote row 4! How row 4 SHOULD have been written out is… Row 4: *2 Sc in the same st, sc 2, *rep until the end of the round. . Sorry for the mess up, I am only human and prone to making mistake. Have a lovely day!

How would this equal 24? Wouldn’t it be 14?
@saaniaz3 жыл бұрын
@@sassaflower3322 The first round is 6 stitches. In the second round, we put two sc in each stitch, making it 12. In the third round, we put two sc in every other stitch, making it 18. In the fourth round, we put two sc in every third stitch, making it 24. Does that clarify it for you?

This is an amazing pattern and tutorial! I've already made MANY coasters - just in time for spring! That said, as a beginner, I'm used to a different type of written pattern and, if I'm correct, noticed that slip stitches are not included in the final stitch count. This threw me a little because I kept thinking I had the pattern wrong. I rewrote the pattern below to help anyone like me who was struggling! Hope it helps! (Note: the "x6, x5" implies repeating this stitch pattern until the end of the round, which will be five or six times depending on the round. "Inc" is an increase stitch, which involves placing two single crochets into the same stitch.) Foundation: Create a magic ring and ch 1. Rnd 1: 6 sc into magic ring. Rnd 2: Inc x 6. Rnd 3: Sc, inc x 6. Rnd 4: Inc, 2 sc x 6. Rnd 5: 3 sc, inc x 6, sl st into the first st of the round. Rnd 6: Ch 1 with new color, 30 hdc, sl st into first st of round. Rnd 7: Ch 1, sl st into that same st, (sc, hdc, 5 dc in same st, hdc, sc, sl st) x 5, sl st into first st of round. Rnd 8: Ch 1, sl st into that same st, (sc, hdc 3, 3 hdc in same st, hdc 3, sc, sl st) x 5, sl st into first st of round. Rnd 9: Ch 1, sl into that same st, (2 sc, hdc, 2 hdc in same st, hdc, 2 hdc in same st, hdc, 2 hdc in same st, hdc, sc 2, sl st) x 5, sl st into first st of the round. Fasten off & weave in ends.

It took a lot of trial and error to make the final product, but once you get there, it looks great! Some things I learned: *sl st don't count towards the final sts count *she doesn't place her stitch marker in the same place in round 5 so be careful (it is placed one stitch farther back than how it is for other rounds). The best way to get this count right is counting all 30 sts total and then proceeding to do the sl st *Decreasing the video speed helps to see which stitch she is working on and where to place the sl st

I’m sorry but glad it turned out! The reason how you ended up with an extra petal has to do with how I accidentally wrote row 4 😅 Row 4 SHOULD be written out like Row 4: *2 Sc in the same st, sc 2, *rep until the end of the round.
@HeyMahiahGirl2 жыл бұрын
heyy i’ve done this a couple times and the only time they’ve come out looking okay was when i had to adjust it on my own. the transitions between round 7 8 and 9 are a little confusing because when i follow the written pattern exactly i feel like it gives me an extra stitch that’s slightly off the rest of the petals. and then when i look closely to watch you slip stitch i can’t clearly see which stitch you’re doing the slip stitch in :// i guess i just wish i could also see you crochet the whole round sped up or something so i can make sure i’m doing it right before i have to unravel my round once i see it’s off.
@CreativeExpress87 Жыл бұрын
I'm having the same problem, what makes it worse is that on round 7 the "ch1+SS" is in the first stitch but on round 8 it's in the ss that was on the end of the round 😅 I wish I knew enough abot Crochet to know why she needs 2 SS after every round, and not just 1ss or 1ss+ch1

Then 5 double crochets in the next stitch. There should be 5 in that one stitch. 6. HDC in next 7. Then SC in the next 8. Then Slip stitch. Repeat steps 3 to 8 going around then slip stitch into the first stitch (where you placed a marker). Hope this helps!
