This week, Shizuka visits the beautiful city of Nara, famous for the deer that roam freely around the city and live in harmony with the human inhabitants. But Nara isn’t just a city full of these cute deer; it also boasts a long history, impressive temples and shrines, and a wonderful collection of delicious food- including the fastest mochi in the world!
While exploring the city, Shizuka enjoys a variety of sweet and savory treats. From local fruits and vegetables to the traditional pickled sushi wrapped in persimmon leaves, tasty bites can be found around every corner. And as a special bonus, she gets a chance to talk with Nakatani Mitsuo, the fastest mochi maker in the world!

Hard to say, so many unique Wagashi with tea (mainly the yokan with nuts) . However, so far my overall fave are the Yukimi Daifuku 『雪見だいふく』- especially with friends, and try making from scratch with nuts, fruit, etc. to the ice cream..

LOVE Nara. It was one of my favorite cities I visited in 2015 while studying abroad in Kyoto. The deer are literally everywhere, and they're so cute, though overly friendly and demanding of treats. One ate the map my group had... Nara has a lot of neat shops and food to explore, and is definitely a must visit place.

The sweet potato strings on ice cream looked weird to me, doesn't really help that the one time i had sweet potatoes i didn't like them at all. But the rest looked really good. And the deer were way to adorable, is that much adorableness actually legal?

The deers there are very educated but they aren't like Bambi they are being themselves and I bet they don't smell like perfume too. We have the tendency to anthropomorphize everything and that wasn't aggression at all that deer just wanted to have a snack... 🦌🦌🤣😂😁
