Thank you for showing us how you left the 1.3/8" ungathered on the inside of the gathered shoulder front piece so that the placket, once turned, lays flat. Unless I'm much mistaken, the pattern itself doesn't mention that at all, which is shocking really - as it's so important for the placket to lay smoothly. Your video was super helpful, I only wish I'd found it before I'd ripped that gathering part back for the third time.

After watching your pin tucks technique video yesterday, I was very excited to see your makes for this sewing pattern. Polka dot prints always make me smile and I love your "welcome to Brazil" fabric as well. Now I understand the potential hacking options for this pattern by transforming the gathering ease into pin tucks! So exciting. I also started piecing together/using scraps for the insides of a garment to save fabric as well. You are a wonderful inspiration!

I love this blouse, and just bought the pattern. What I would like to know is HOW MUCH FABRIC this pattern takes I can't find that measurement anywhere, and I don't know if you mentioned it. Well done on these tops. Very inspiring.

If you look at the website where the pattern is listed, you’ll see a tab that says fabric requirements and you can see how much it is. It is also in the pattern instructions. I never mention fabric requirements on my videos because it’s different depending on many factors like fabric width, size and option of the pattern chosen. In my case, I use the least humanly possible with creative layouts, so the amount I use won’t work for everyone. I focus on the sewing :)

You make everything look so easy, must be your enthusiasm! Just beautiful! I was all set to make the Ballad in a beautiful deep sea blue rayon swiss dot crinkle challis and you advised against using a crinkle rayon because of the front placket. Is there anyway around this? If I used a sew in interfacing in place of an iron on would that work? Can you suggest another pattern for this crinkle rayon? It is so beautiful I would hate to ruin it. Than you for all your inspiring videos. I enjoy them all

The crinkle rayon would be ok in the interfaced areas but it will grow in all the others. It’s also difficult to work with. I’d make a maxi skirt like the Allegro because then if it grows, it’s just part of the design and there are only a few seams there.

I always sew my guide lines in a contrasting color so it's easier to see when pressing the edges under for hems or areas that need to be turned under. If you're going to take it out anyway, why not make it easier on the eyes? Yes, it's an extra step and a little more time, but well worth it, IMHO.

It makes no difference to me because I can see the color when I’m pressing in the raw edge 🤷🏻‍♀️. I don’t need another color. Maybe I will in the future.
