One thing I do for prep is to apply sunscreen to my hands. Helps protect your hands from the UV light.

It's generally a good idea to apply sunscreen to any skin fully or partially exposed regularly to the sun. For the time you use a UV lamp for 1 service every 3-4 weeks, the exposure from a UV lamp alone doesn't pose a risk.

You can also use fingerless gloves to help protect your hands.

4:15 😮I always did a full 60 seconds between colour coats. Is that why my nail polish only lasts a week or so?
@droo42367 ай бұрын
@simlover00 flash curing for 10 seconds is only to keep the gel in place when you’re working on multiple nails and don’t want the gel to run. Once the nails are flash cured, they still need a full cure, according to the time the manufacturer recommends.

I took my daughter to get her nails done for graduation. A mani pedi was 150.00. Never again!

Why "never again"? Was there an issue with the service?

I imagine because of the price - that’s very expensive!

What was wrong with it? If it’s just the price, that should be clear ahead of time. You are paying for the tech’s time as well as experience. You can find less experienced techs cheaper, but when someone has honed their skills they are able to charge more in ANY field. You’re also paying for the salon experience, which many people enjoy. It’s not the polish, it’s the pampering. You’re going to pay for it. Often the tech isn’t the owner & is renting salon space, sometimes on a daily basis. I prefer to do my own nails at home because I’m looking for the end result mani not an afternoon long experience with my daughter with a mani souvenir. I guess some of it depends on region but $150 really doesn’t seem high to me.
