Scalloped holes (he is an Uillean pipe maker), make for very comfortable playing! Definitely my favourite whistle!

Probably my favourite high d whistle. I’m looking forward to the new whistle arising from the collaboration between Thornton and Mc Neely.

Alas, this ABW whistle is like a high end set of golf clubs that won't improve my swing. Cheers all and Happy Holidays !

If you want suggestions for whistles to review, I’d suggest Wild Irish whistles. I also own a Jerry Freeman tweaked whistle, and I think would be cool to hear your thoughts on the brand.

@@MicahDrozdowicz-e5x I have some 😊 Jerry sent me some to review but then didn't seem to want me to review them after that because he'd had some health issues at the time and didn't want lots of orders to come through in one go 😅 I haven't heard from him since 🫤

Hello Stephanie. I am currently learning how to play the tin whistle on a clark sweet tone. The biggest issue that I am having is playing the d and e notes. Is it my understanding that this whistle requires a bit more air? So would that be less of an issue with this one?
@CutiepieTinWhistle16 сағат бұрын
@@RayFromTheHayclan definitely yes, though it's more important to try and learn good breath control rather than relying on a heavier blowing whistle, as generally the 'more air' is needed for the higher notes, not so much the lower notes.

Thanks. That's a good point.@@CutiepieTinWhistle

What is the best tuned whistle you have ever played? Is it characteristic of a particular maker?
@CutiepieTinWhistleСағат бұрын
Not particularly, because a lot of it depends on how well you've warmed up the whistle and the amount of breath you put through on each note... But some whistles are certainly better tubes to start with than others...

Wooden whistle may warp right? What kind of maintenance is required?
@BB-pn2qv22 сағат бұрын
Oiling, yes. Warping nope.
@CutiepieTinWhistle16 сағат бұрын
@@brassmonkey84 whistles with wooden mouthpieces might warp under certain circumstances (if stored damp, or left in the sun) but blackwood is extremely durable and won't warp. You'll need to oil the whistle to keep the wood in top condition though
