If you dig a little trench two inch deep at the start so the blade can drop into it, then the initial cut to get going is easier !

Thank You for your video. I've been contemplating ripping up my turf and putting artificial grass down - and this has shown me clearly how the turf cutter will help me (and shown me where the on/off switch is.

when would you say is the best month to get going on this? my lawn is very lumpy bumpy with solid clay in some places, I hope to do this. flatten it out and then use seed to start again but the rolls of good lawn can be given away which is always a bonus
