10% or less is the average, based on my experience
@sebastienboisvert8561 Жыл бұрын
I think that the Like counter is not reporting correctly because on other channels I noticed something like 20K Likes even though the video only had 4000 views and was just released
@RYwoodview Жыл бұрын
Yes, that makes no sense. For example, while I'm viewing this, there are 529 "Likes" (including mine), no "Dislikes", and 4,300 views. OK, that's close to 10%, but if I care to view a video I always "Like" because it takes a literal moment to say I appreciate someone making something I appreciate. Can't understand why anyone would not.

That only works if you are logged in. Still, I think youtube does not want to reinforce the views of those it deems undesireable, so it will not show some comments to anyone. Yeah, people are becoming more and more fragile because of the over-shielding of people, and it conveniently benefits, well, we know who it benefits.

I always leave positive comments and engage the content of the video... sometimes the video is a funny video and I sometimes play along with the gag... but a little more than a month or two ago, I got a a nasty message from KZbin that blocked my access to my account informing me that one or more of my comments MIGHT HAVE been in violation of policy perhaps it was racists, spamming, or misinformation, that sort of thing... and without providing me any evidence or letting me know which one or ones were offensive ones, I don't know if it was it recent comment or 10 years ago. I find this deeply offensive as I know that I have done none of those horrible things KZbin was accusing me of doing. The only recourse available to me was to contest this claim, some text (small-ish font) "if in error click this" so I did that... to this day still no response from KZbin, but that didn't clear the message, regardless that I contested the claim, I was forced to click a BIG blue button "GOT IT" I felt like this was almost admitting that I did something wrong, again, to this day I don't know what it was, or what it thought it was, or was this a bug in their "algorithm". This was around the time they were beating people up for having AD blockers turned on... similar deal, they throw you a NAG screen... to which I wasn't even aware it was installed on my system... how embarrassing I was when I noticed that red shield, so I turned it off, and then suddenly I was getting dozens of ads from KZbin... It seemed like every 5 minutes or less during the video play, plus 2 roll before you watch, and one or two more rolls after you watch, So a 30 minute video and I'm watching 8 ads... as a result, I only watch a couple of videos a day... I cut down my KZbin time from a few hours a day, to perhaps on average 30 minutes a day... (Way to go KZbin) and I've also stopped watching Cable, movies, and other video content, I found I can mostly live without it... soon might cancel my TV Cable and just have Internet... I don't need any of this in my life and timewasting habits mean that I can accomplish more with my time than having my brain in mindless idle mode. Thank you KZbin for waking me up... and becoming less addicted to your "product"

About a year ago, I commented on a friend's KZbin video. During the outro, he made a funny gesture and comment, and I replied to that with an equally comical comment. My comment was hidden from him, and I had to submit my comment for review to possibly have KZbin restore it. They didn't. It wasn't in any way negative. Upon review of my comment, KZbin actually removed his video because the outro comment he made was apparently offensive. It wasn't. Obviously, I can't repeat either comment here. KZbin will likely censor it if I do. They've gotten as bad as Facebook when it comes to censorship. The removal of the dislike counter was just the beginning.

As far as the censorship is concerned, I have noticed lately when browsing the comments that there is something going on with replies. I've noticed lately that when I click on the reply there is nothing there. I'm not sure what that means or what causes it but I know that there have been times when I've made a comment and then noticed someone else made a comment similar and I go back and delete my comment as I felt it wasn't necessary to repeat it. The comment section then reverts back to the original state. The empty reply though started me to wonder about cencorship.
@lohikarhu734 Жыл бұрын
yep...it looks like YT has "noticed" that some commenters, myself included, are prevented from replying to "certain" content, or on certain channels...there are a few controversial topics "in play", these days, and a huge bias in "western" media...fortunately, carpentry and audio, not so much...
@IBuildItScrapBin Жыл бұрын
The reply has been hidden and you need to hit the "sort by" button to see it. It probably had some tone or keywords that triggered the bot that automatically hides comments and replies. You can see a number of them right here in the comments to this video, actually.
@j.f.christ8421 Жыл бұрын
@@IBuildItScrapBin KZbin's been doing this for ages, it's nothing new. They're actually going back thru old videos and hiding comments there as well. It's just brain-dead bots, everything from the spammers, sex-bots and all-round a-holes that gets flagged is used to train them, and if your comment is similar to one of those billions of deleted crap, well, sucks to be you. But yeah, I've had plenty of "WTF?" moments with comments getting shadow-banned.. I've noticed they've taken a real dislike to that Chinese company starting with A we all like to buy crap off, thanks spammers. The real problem is they don't know about context, so a joke on one channel would be rude on another. I'm surprised they even bother with comments, many websites just switched them off (eg IMDB years ago) because it wasn't worth the hassle.

I think the road we are on is already cut, paved and well traveled, and will only get wider and less recognized as going in the wrong direction. There is the bulk of humanity's apathy and desire to just get along and go along that'll push those of us that think differently down that same road whether we like it or not.
