I know how you feel using the push mower as I started with a push mower,Walmart weed whacker/blower when I first wanted to start doing other people’s yards besides a couple with mine for 20+ years as I went from that push mower to a lawn tractor which I still got for last 3 years almost,then upgraded to echo back pack blower,saved up more money then got a stihl weed whacker,then got a cheap dump cart to haul my stuff around in to do local neighborhood yards and now just upgraded the push mower to a 33” cub cadet walk behind mower as it was all I could afford atm & now I’m all set til I save up more funds to get other equipment,etc as I am partnering up with another landscaper to do yards not in my Area since he has yards near where I can pick up some so I’m glad I learn some new stuff with your videos that I thought I’d never try..😉🤷🏻♂️🤔👍🏻

Love the video Dan! Love how you walk us through your thought process and the "why" behind what you are doing! I have a Stihl 130 KOMBI and it is really too heavy for my weed eater. It's great for the edger (curved shaft) I use old my little Echo 2100SB more when weed eating/trimming. Stihl makes great stuff, I also have an old BG85 Blower. I tend to buy commercial stuff hoping that I will get a lifetime of use out of them. I need to either sell the Stihl Kombi or the Echo PAS system. No need to have two when I just mow my own yard. What led you to go with the Stihl over Echo?

Lizard alert @ the 17:51 Mark - as you're mowing down along the wooden fence towards the bottom of the fence, I saw the little feller running for his life on the fence, lol. PS: I've watched you mow this particular lawn so many times now that I know it as good as you do! Even done it in my sleep a few times as well. What is wrong with me? But I could only push mow it in my dreams, as those days of push mowing are over for me because of my joint problems. That's why I spent the BIG bucks and bought my Gravely ZT-XL 42" with the bagger system. It's the perfect size for any homeowner. Or even for someone like you, Dan. Oh wait, you already have one of these, so you know exactly what I'm talking about. :-)

I have the Stihl KM 110 with most all of the attachments for it. Edger, weed eater, blower, articulating hedge trimmer, pole saw and the tiller. I also have A snapper hivac push mower. I have used Hondas, Toro , snapper and all the other brands. The reason I choose the snapper over the Honda it does a much better job bagging over the Honda. If I was going to much all the time I would go with a Toro super recycle because I think that's the best strictly for mulching. My snapper does mulch pretty well will the kit and the single x blade. The reason I didn't choose the Honda was the weight, the 2 spreate blades. And where l when we used them at the company I worked for. The metal deck would been and the blade would hit if you ran into a tree roof on the surface or edge of of side walk. Plus the snapper has a much better transmission and it's super easy to work on, maintain and clean.

Ah Dan... if you really went back to the basics you would be pushing around a reel mower with a grass catcher behind it. No matter how careful you were when you emptied the catcher, half the grass ended up on the ground. Do you remember (probably not since you're so young) the hand powered, back breaking edger? It was basically a wheel of spikes with a handle. You had to push your way (back and forth) to make a clean edge. In both cases, the mower and the edger, you got a real upper body workout, especially that first edging of spring. Lordy, how things have changed, and that's a good thing!

@@DansVlog Well, I have to say, you look younger than that. I would have guessed 45 or 46. It's all that walking behind a lawn mower that keeps you young. Remember that during your next epsom salts bath. LOL.

Dan I have the same mower you have. One question when you set it to mulch that door is suppose to shut. When you raise the flap at the back of the mower is their any build up with grass.
@DansVlog5 жыл бұрын
Yes there sometimes is some build up. If you move the door back and forth a few times, it gets the loose clippings out of the track and lets the door seal better
