Looks like you were having a blast! When I do steep sections of trail or firebreak, I like to install water bars to get the water off of the trail surface as quickly as possible to prevent erosion. There are quite a few good videos on KZbin showing how to do this. Also, when planning a road / trail system, I like to start with a road around the perimeter that acts as a fire break and allows easy access to most areas of the property. Interior roads act as fire breaks as well, leaving different areas to be burned using prescribed fire on alternating years. 🔥

Having a nice accessible road that generally covers your property is key to specially in bigger plots! Makes things so much more convenient later down the road…Especially I’d you’re taking rigs back in it since there’s always the possibility you will need something much bigger to get something out lol

Does this bucket have an adjustable side to side angle? I have steep terrain and in parts I have to go across slopes that are up to 20 degrees cross slope. I need something to flatten it out, and I think getting a backhoe and going a few feet at a time scraping up the left side of the trail to drop it on the right, then driving over it, that would take ages. A bulldozer would be so nice but I don't think the rental companies have ones where you can adjust the bucket angle? If not, seems like I would only be able to make the trail at the same cross angle that the dozer is on, which would be the existing slope cross angle? Seems like you have some partso f the video where you are in a similar stituation, like around 9:00 where your right side is higher than your left and you push the dirt on the right side...

@asdfjklasdfjkl1988 yes, this dozer has that. It's called a 6 way blade. You can change the angle of the blade while driving on flat ground.

@@HuntYourWay Very helpful thank you. I am going to see about renting one. I wonder what max cross slope they can navigate. hopefully i'll be addressing that as it goes so it won't be too much of a problem

I should have bought a dozer and track ho instead of a house. That little case killed it! I think I’m gonna get one dropped off this weekend and give it a shot.

Finally someone doing a realistic video! I see these guys doing other videos labeled clearing a trail or land and they are on a perfectly flat field 😂. This is more like what a person will have to deal with

Trail blazing 101. Never say never is your motto I see. I would have given up way before that once I seen how far down that gully was. Loving the time lapse video. Glad to see you having fun and making it easier for you to get around your property. That looked like some awesome deer territory where you where putting in that new trail. Nice tree stand would work great right there on that little knoll above the trail I bet. Can you see about maybe cutting back on the volume of the music. It is quite loud in my hearing aids...lol Can't wait to see the final trail. Keep up the great job and stay safe on the tractor. Tom

Nice man. That’s Ohio? Looks a lot like my property here in Arkansas. I’m dozing out roads and clearing for another house site with my little mini excavator. I really need a dozer though but I’m lucky to not be attempting to do this with only a pick and a shovel. Good job!!!

Cat John Deere Kamatzu all have better features. Case equipment has a design flaw. In extreme hard pushing they have a hydraulic overload release. In overload it trips and you can't cut or push till the machine resets and it is very aggravating to deal with 😂😂😂 ! Overall they are good machines and are quieter to operate! There track group is very tough! But I will take any of the above mentioned machines over a Case !

How about clear cutting forests for solar panels, that require major mining operations to build the panels, that require roads to be built to access, using an tin of fossil fuels, in which the panels will be toxic waste in 20 years and tossed in a landfill…..sjef?
