Hair looks great! What was the name of the product you showed us? Do you have a shampoo/conditioner that you really like? Re-opened my pierced ear with an earring - dipped it in hydrogen peroxide first to cleanse it. Currently reading (audio) "The Man from Primrose Lane" after having read Nick Jones' "And Then She Vanished". Mysteries. Sort of.

Try breaking thru the layer of skin in the back of the piercing with an earring. That’s what I had to do with mine and it wasn’t too bad at all and it’s common. If it’s not working easily make an appointment at a tattoo shop. I know it seems scary but I promise getting it pierced by a professional will be the least scary, most healthy, and most painless option. Those piercing guns are absolutely terrible. No one should ever use them for anything.

I second that!! You can't sterilize the piercing gun and it makes more damage than a needle. Trying to repierce it with a piercing yourself or visiting a professional is the way to go here in my opinion.

If you're trying to do it yourself with an earring and have a hard time, use some oil (you do that for stretching them, it helps). You can use jojoba oil or coconut oil. After that, keeping it clean and dry with water and facewash is enough, sterile saline wound wash (the ones for your sinuses work too, hydrasense type works great too). This was recommended by a friend who's a piercer. No rubbing alcohol after it's pierced and no need to fiddle with it and irritating it more: it might get stuck, give it a couple days.

yeah i have two sets of lobe piercings that are from when i was older and able to remember getting pierced with a piercing gun, and omg they were so much more sensitive and uncomfortable for longer than those from a pro w a needle- even though the others are all much more difficult areas, i'd take some of those w a needle over any more lobes with a gun. i've also had some times of just trying to force an earring through to make it work, but if it's taking a lot of effort, rly just best to see a pro. especially bc if you end up kinda "re-pierce" it anyway using the earring, much better to just get it done instead- more sterile, they've got more control over the angle, and less trauma for the skin bc the blunt end is more forceful than the tapered needle (seconding the other advice, no rubbing alcohol w any open piercing wound you're trying to heal, sterile saline and letting water run over it the shower are your best friends when healing, and no messing w it or need to twist)

I actually admire that you cut your hair yourself. It looks great and you have more volume! Must be so freeing! ❤ Great vlog. Will definitely keep watching (as if I wouldn't! 🙄😂). As for you ear, I'd go in a tattoo parlor: they have professional piercer, have sterilized equipment and single-use needle and they can have both holes "match".

Hi! If you still haven't pierced your ear, I suggest you try putting your earring from the back a few times. You might want to rub your earlobe with a gel used for a baby's gum to numb it a little. Or see a professional in a tattoo shop. Please not a jewelry store. 🙂 Looove how your hair turned out. 💇🏻‍♀️

I used to cut my own hair, just put it up at the top of my head in a ponytail and saw across with sewing scissors. Now I have my husband trim my hair, every couple months. He does the full sectioning, trimming it in increments and making sure it is even when he establishes the guide. Mine is to my elbows, I like it long and so does he. I have a couple friends that have asked him to cut their hair as they like how mine looks, plus they hate going to the salon between the stylist getting scissor happy and cutting their hair too short, the expense, especially when they tack the “long hair extra” charge, and the time wasted. I cut my husband’s hair for him about once a month. So we save a good chunk of money doing haircuts at home. I don’t wear my hair down loose very often as I like it out of my face and off my neck when I am doing things. I have my husband brain it for me, he can do Dutchm French fishtail and side braids. I get compliments on them and asked how I do them. I tell them I take a seat and tell him I need a braid. I tell people that is part of his duties as my husband. I think every woman should have her guy do her hair for her. And I tell other women, that he can only braid my hair, he can braid our granddaughter’s hair too if she asks.

I totally agree on the green painting. It's perfect. Also, kittens are cute and yay to cutting your hair by yourself! I wouldn't dare by myself. Same thing happened to me last year with my ear piercing (the normal one for earrings), so I just walked in into a piercing parlour. It was done fast and painless and professionally. They even placed the new hole in a better place, as the last one, the one that closed up, was a bit sideways. The lady at the jewelry shop that did it with a piercing gun apparently did not know what she was doing.

The kitties seems to be doing alright 💜 I had a second earlobe piercing that closed on the back as well. I reopened it by pushing through with a thin bar earring. It hurt a little but I only had to leave it be for a few days. It reopened and from then I was able to switch to any other earring I had.

For your ear, I'd try to break through with an earring first (no piercing guns!). I've had this problem before. Try dipping the tip of the earring post into neosporin or mupirocin ointments (or something like them), and try both the front and back openings of your ear. Sometimes you just gotta where your earring backwards for a bit. With the medicine, if you do break through and the skin is broken, then there's some antibiotic ointment already there! Also, the earring pulls on the skin less with the added goo. 😁 You're hair is looking great! General health is so important for your hair, and since you've been struggling, just give it time (to get thicker again) and a good diet that you're able to stick with while you work around whatever new things your body is needing/demanding. Even when I know this stuff, I still need to remind myself that it's all a process, and I just need to keep moving in the direction I want to end up in. For the painting, I think the green/darker one is better. Glad you're enjoying your space so much more! 😍

Hi Emily! I recently started listening to Blood by Dr. Jen Gunter (narrated by the author). I know you typically have interest in "medical" related nonfiction and even though I'm only 25% of the way through I can tell its going to be one of my favorites of the year. I've found it highly informative, easily digestible, and pretty humorous. If you're able to get your hands on it, I already want to recommend it to everyone in my life.

Your haircut looks good. I wish you could help me do the same. I don't have the guts to go to a salon and let someone else touch my hair. It's a very sensitive subject since I had cancer treatments and part of my hair will never grow back. But what's left is way, way too long and I just don't have the courage to trim it or ask a professional for help. Speaking of a professional, please go to a professional for your pierced ears issue. Being afraid to cut off too much hair is one thing. Accidentally messing up your pierced ears is more permanent. Thanks for showing us so many clips of the cats. They're so cute and it's worth missing out on reading time to have fun with cats.
