I will never get why some english speaking people are so rude about other people's accents. like why not being happy about the videos being in a language they can understand instead of being snobbish poo-poo-heads. like if you'd do your videos in french they wouldn't understand anything. Me neither, by the way, since german is my fist language xD so I'm SUPER glad you do your videos in english and I can lurk here since the beginning of your chanel. congrats on your 100k and greetings from vienna! :D
@BookswithEmilyFox3 жыл бұрын
Exactly! The fact that most people understand English is wonderful so we can all communicate. If it's your first language, you don't get to criticize others. Plus everyone has an accent XD
@mariar82562 жыл бұрын
They do that when they don't speak other languages themselves. They don't understand the process of learning a second language and they think that people can just get rid of their accents if they want. They tend to be intolerant to differences in accent or words because they have never been in the position of speaking a language that is not their first language.

Funny story... I was telling my friend about your Pride and Prejudice video and she got so excited: "Omg, she's Emily. I love her." And then we gushed about you (and your gorgeous voice and accent - and I said to her: "I can't tell her that I love her voice and accent because that's a little creepy, but her voice is so lovely that I can actually fall asleep listening to it (I have insomnia so this is a good thing)." but since some people have told you the opposite, I now dare to tell you this). She started by watching your beauty videos and I by watching your booktube videos. And soon, we're going to do a Pride and Prejudice marathon and watch both the BBC series and the movie. Thanks to you, two Finnish ladies had a wonderful time bonding over your thoughts on books, Pride and Prejudice and beauty. :D You are wonderful.

@@BookswithEmilyFox And we just did the Pride and Prejudice marathon yesterday and it was every bit as fun as we thought it would be. Thank you for inspiring us to do silly things together! Also... We both loved the BBC Darcy more, but the Hollywood Elizabeth pretty much won us over. Both versions were wonderful, though (although Jane in the BBC version was blank as a sheet (or a Moomin) and we kept missing the couple in the movie verse) . And now, I want to reread the book too. Gah! I love this story so much.
