Had my locs a little over 11 years. I'm tired of them want something different. My beautician can't believe it, but she is cutting them off slowly, the length was middle of my back, not at my neck, the next trip in another month, bye bye locs. I want to show off my salt and pepper hair.

I just cut 2 rows of locs off and on one side of my head... the cornrows feel amazing... everyday I'll cut 2 rows in a style of course! Lol...... so I'm not in shock after having locs since 98'!

I made one year loc journey back in November. A few days before Thanksgiving, I decided to comb them out. I missed my full thick hair and the variety of styles. If anyone needs tips on what to use to comb them out with ease. Aloe plant and a flea comb you use for your pet. Good luck with your hair journey 💚

Wow, so you really did end up cutting them. There was such an outpouring of love and support when you first told us how you were feeling in Nov 2019 that I thought you wouldn't follow through with it. But then it's your hair and your channel. I'm pretty sure you thought it through before making this final decision. I *LOVED* your locks. Just wanted to add that I did a TON of research before starting my locs, and something that kept coming up was the fact that as locs mature, they shrink first before they start growing. From what you shared in your November video last year obviously your locks were in the shrinking phase. I'm at the 9th month now, and a few of my locks are already starting to shrink. I expect my entire head to get even shorter as the hair stacks up on itself and becomes more compact. Whatever journey you choose from this point, research is key, so you know what to expect and don't get discouraged or lose hope. All the loc goddesses and gurus went through the shrinking/ so called stagnant phase. There's no skipping or getting around it. In life we all need to press through to get anything worth having. im 3/4 of the way through combing out my locs of 15 years. I've been taking my time with it over a few months. I started at the front and as I go i just plait my loose hair. My locs are about 30 inches long and some are longer. My loose hair is on avg so far about 18 inches since I cut my locs above the sun bleached part of the loc. Can't wait to have them all out! YOur hair looks great congrats.
