I love how your hair looked before, during, and after the locks! 😍 I haven't read too many other comments, so please forgive me if someone else has already said this...but when you removed the scarf and showed the final "after look" I immediately thought of Sara Gilbert, who played Darlene on the sitcoms Roseanne & The Conners!! Your curls look so nice and you really did a great job on the cut! 👍🏼👍🏼😃

I have 11yrs of locs that I decided to get rid of yesterday. It took me 6hrs to do just get one untangled even after I cut about a good 2 feet off. This is a long, long, long process. I'm so drained already. It too me 2 days to get 3 out and have 21 more to go. It truly is a journey in itself to let them go. You look beautiful before and after just another phase in this life, all journeys are worth the time and effort.
@LaurenFleck3 ай бұрын
Awh thank you for your lovely words hun 🥹🫶🏼 and daymmm i feel you, 6hrs on just one is so tedious isn't it! well, may this process move swift for you, just take plenty of deep breaths, have a list of things to watch, persevere, and you will be so happy once its done, the relief is worth it in the end 🙏🏼 It look me about a month to get all mine out fully so i understand the length time, the loc's teach you so much patience lol, deffo a journey right 🥴🤭

GREAT VIDEO...AWESOME JOB ...wish me luck!!! ❤

@LaurenFleck sooooo..I cut them in half so the were at about my waistline ...then I SLOWLY BUT SURELY teased them loose..millimeter by millimeter lol..I spent the next 7weeks ..*3-4 hrs daily. Gently untangling each one...worked out to roughly 30hrs per week for 7 weeks! It wasn't so bad...Now I am left with decent length ( middle of my back) I am still getting used to the lack of hair...I call it "phantom locks" think "phantom limb syndrome " it's crazy...I feel bald and now I need a pillow lol. No more chronic neck pain!

My curly childhood hair is the very reason too for me to cut my dreads. I miss my curls, they are peeking out on the sides because I haven't maintained the roots in over 1.5 years now.
@CraftyMaelyss3 жыл бұрын
*watching this while doing my dreadlock maintenance* If I were to take my dreads out, I think I would cut them. That way if I really miss them later on, I can grow my hair out and just reattach them. I do that with coloured extensions, since dye doesn't work on my dreads, so I see it working with them too. That said, I love my dreads *WAY* to much to chop them, kudos to you for wanting a change! :D
@CraftyMaelyss2 жыл бұрын
Plot twist: At the time or writing, I brushed all my dreads out (I was curious about how long my hair was) then cut it short. Honestly? I'm loving the short style now, it's insanely easy to look after and I found a style that's quite versatile in doing different styles to suit my fancy :)

: I just watched your vedio with the dreads, and now after watching this one, I'm questioning myself, If I wanna grow my hair long again, for a dreadlock. ( Because I believe that hair is the extension of the nervous system and I had felt this upsurge of energy before ). I shaved my long hair for a reason that I'm not sure of yet. My spiritual journey is a crazy one and maybe it happened for good....? idk butI went with my Inner voice. I never had curls before my long hair....now I have curls just like yours.... and I'm loving it.... If Everything is happening for my best self, then I donot want to question the universe. It is hard to decide. 😅

Your hair is absolutely beautiful! Very different from before your locks ! Your hair prior had a few waves and now it's super curly! It looks awesome! Looks super healthy and will gain the length you love back soon :) I bet your head feels so good ! My hair was to the top of my thigh when I put this set in and has now shrunk to mid back. The length loss has freaked me out a bit. Didnt want to add synthetics to it but I am contemplating it for the length back. I miss my long hair 😩💔
@LaurenFleck3 жыл бұрын
Awhhh Rachelle thank you so much 🙏🏼🤍 I know the difference was totally unexpected but i think i spent years brushing/drying my straight so all my hair thats left now is basically fresh hair that grew from having dreads, i love it though haha! i think ill keep it short for a while as its just a nice break from the heavy locks ☺️ its amazing your hair was sooo long girl 😍 and i was the same! mine shrank so much in the first year, but you can buy real hair extensions, dread them then add them to your dreadlocks! I'm sure they look amazing they way they are though 🙏🏼 Sending loveeeee 🤍

That ball of hair was incredible. You could probably felt it or weave a small rug. The shit as you call it is nothing but hair with some skin from your scalp that got trapped inside. I’m not sure how common that is. I haven’t seen nothing like it.
@LaurenFleck5 ай бұрын
Hahaha it was wild wasn't it!! i actually wish i stretched it out to show the fullness of it because that was fully pressed down 🤭 could have made a hair hat out of it 😂 so i suffer with bad eczema and i had a few spells of getting flare ups on my scalp which was super frustrating so i think a lot of it was from that, was gross but releasing it was no longer there any more for sure 😮💨🤭🙏🏼
@solb1015 ай бұрын
That must have been rough with the eczema. Have you tried carnivore diet? It reduces inflammation in joints from my own experience and they say it can help with eczema too. It may sound like a boring diet but you can always introduce some fruit or veggies later and see how you go. Take care.

Holy Goddess of Hair how the heck can anyone dedred? Never thought it was even possible.. Indian Gurus actually have their dreds honored in Sacred Shrines because they are so long to the ground and contain so much Spiritual Power.I thought once dreaded the hair is permenatly ruined and needed to be shaved or cut .Wow you're patient.Think it's important for folks to realize dreds are not braids and are extremely difficult to remove..It helps to have gentle dedredding friends for help 🙆don't dred ever again . Doesn't it feel good to massage and wash your scalp again and feel clean.White girls and dreds don't mix.You look so beautiful now..let your hair get healthy again..Dreds never look clean to me ..You've proved that point.Congrats Chapter closed..new path and journey in Life ahead.
